We have always stayed around the area of the main pool. Actually, I've never seen the other pools at OKW. Are they an easy walk from whatever room I get. I won't have a car - will only be there 4 day in mid-Nov.

MS said I could pool hop - but without a car how do I get to the other resorts?

I enjoy walking around OKW - so getting to the other pools is not a problem. Isn't there an in-resort bus as well?

SSR would be the easiest pool to pool hop to by using the boat to DD.

If I may ask, what is the targeted re-opening date of the big pool? Does anyone know?

I had read somewhere the main pool is scheduled to re-open on Dec 16, 2004. No clue if that is accurate or not though...

I called OKW front desk yesterday and the CM told me Dec. 16th. We're going down on 11/8. I was hoping it'd be open during then, but alas; I guess not. I'm not even sure if we'll have time for hanging by the pool anyway this trip since it's so short. Only 4 days this time. :(

yes - easily.

you can also walk there from OKW - but it is longer walk than the DD (westside one)

I think the other pools are better - 2 are smaller - but Turtle Crawl Pool is just about as big (okay a little smaller but not much)

the people who will miss the main pool is the people with small children. It was the only pool with a kiddie pool.

so the under 3 crowd will miss it more plus their parents.

We were just at OKW last weekend. They have 2 boats, one makes the rounds to DTD, SSR, and OKW. The OTHER boat, we were told, is specifically to take people to SSR from OKW. On the ride over, we were told that WHENEVER we were ready to come back to OKW we could use the phone on the dock at SSR to call the boat to come get us!!!! The boat ride was great fun, the kids LOVED it. The pool at SSR was beautiful and not very crowded on Saturday a.m. It had a small slide and a bigger one that was great for all 4 of our kids (DH and me too!) SOOOOOO, you do not have to walk from DTD to SSR, unless you really want to! Lacee
