OKW in June 2008: 7th month window?

Hey, y'all!

My wife and I are new DVC people and are very new to this board which I absolutely love. I am now on here pretty much everyday. Also, please excuse me if I posted this in the wrong DVC forum.

We are planning a large group trip with our family some time at the end of May/beginning of June 2008. We would like to get a Grand Villa, but as of now only have enough points to afford the Grand Villa at OKW. My home resort is SSR. The 7-month window for me would be in November 2007. What are my chances of booking a ressie at OKW for a Grand Villa 7 months out?

Another idea is for me to buy 50 more points at SSR. If I do this I can afford the Grand Villa at SSR (if they are still available) giving me the home resort advantage starting in July.

I really would like to make this happen for our family, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I noticed a lot of you have the banner for your home resorts placed in your signature line. Where do I find those? I got mine by copying someone else's image. I was wondering if there was an official place to get it.

For a June OKW GV, I think you do have a chance depending on WHEN in June. If you are thinking very early, I think it's easier than late in June. You might have to waitlist, so I would probably book the accommodations you can afford at SSR, and then waitlist the GV. With an automatic transfer to the GV, you will have a good chance of getting what you want. In the meantime, book enough accommodations to house your group at SSR should the waitlist not come through. Good luck! We LOVE the OKW GVs! Another thought would be to try to get someone to transfer in the additional points you need at SSR.

Points go up on June 10, so you might have a problem getting that GV, especially with Gay Days, Memorial Day weekend, school's out, etc.

The season changes on June 10. So you pay more for points on June 10 than you did on June 9 for the same room.

BUT, that might make after the 10th easier for a GV. I think that second week of June might be easier than later in the month, and for both the point cost reason, and the fact that a lot of folks delay vacations until closer to Independence Day.
