OKW Grand Villa

could anyone tell me what the chances are of getting a grand villa reservation at OKW for late august at the seven month window....I know a 2 bedroom is probable, but we have the points for a grand villa...just wondering??

That is probably one of the more likely times to get one at seven months. There are only a few times of year that I would rule it out completely, even then there would be a chance.

A lot of schools are back in session in late August, so I agree with Rich.You should have no problem.

I Didn't say "No problem". I think that you have a shot and that this is one of the more likely times you will have a shot.

I still think that if you have your heart set on the OKW GV, you would be best off trading points with an OKW ownere who want the 11 month window at your resort.

The Rent/Trade board would be my first choice. Waiting till the seven month window opens up would be my last resort.

Rich, I'm curious. What are some other "more likely" times that someone might snag a grand villa at OKW? Care to hazard a guess?

Just in case Rich isn't on -line , I would think January,Sept,Oct would be your 3 best months to book a GV at OKW. There are 27 GV's at OKW.The harder times to book would be around any holiday and June-July.

I'm not Rich, but the best chance of getting a reservation at any of the DVC's is when school is not in session and has just returned from a vacation.....August/September is a good time for this as is early January when the kids have just come back from the Christmas break. Early May could also fall into this category as they are finishing up for the year. However, the good weather makes this a more popular time than January or August.

October and November, the first two weeks of December are the low point seasons and the most difficult to book the GV.

September is a really, really, light month at WDW, the points are low, but the one time I did book in Sept, I did it at ten months without a problem.

We booked our GV in OKW last year in Feb. for our Stay in May (we went May 6-10) and had no problems with availibility. Just thought I'd let you know. Good luck!

Instead of generalities, I think it would be most helpful to hear from those who got a GV less than seven months out, and even more so from any who were NOT able to get a grand villa at OKW. If they remember, approximately how far in advance they inquired about availability and were successful or not.

We just got a GV at OKW for may 4th for 8 nights, could have gotten it longer if we had the points. Just made the ressie last friday.
