OKW Grand Villa

We leave on Sunday for OKW. I had a two bedroom but called today to see if they had a Grand Villa available. They had it so I booked it. Can anyone who has stayed in a Grand Villa at OKW tell me about the room. It looks really big. I am so excited. There are only 8 of us but it will be my daughter and her friend, my friend and her two girls and myself and my two boys. This way we all have our own bedroom and bathrooms. Did I tell you that I was so excited.

They are great and huge and when you walk in you will go "holy cow".

Then you will go

The first floor is kitchen, dining, living room area (sort of a "great room" effect), the master bedroom with bathroom, and another full bathroom and a laundry room.

The 2nd floor is 2 more bedrooms each with their own bath.

When I took 5 girlfriends to Disney for my 50th b'day, we stayed at a Grand Villa at OKW and loved it! The living area is huge and the 4th bathroom is great to have when it is time to get ready for dinner! I believe the square footage is close to double that of the 2 bedroom (not sure about that though). OKW is our home resort and we have stayed at studios and two bedrooms there a number of times. I love just being at OKW but the Grand Villas are especially wonderful for a group. Eight of you in a 2 BR would have been TOO cozy! FYI, there was a stereo system in our GV so take some good CDs with you!

We return in October to an OKW Grand Villa with our granddaughter, her parents, and her three great grandparents! Can't wait!

We stayed at the OKW grand villa on our first trip as DVC members in 2000. We split the room with my brother's family who bought the same time as we did. He has 4 kids, we have 2 kids. So our 2 families alone were 10 people. (granted all kids were very young oldest being 7 so they take up very little space). Then we invited my sister and her husband rounding out to 12 total in the room.

We gave the fancy master bedroom to my sister and husband and the rest of us split up between the other 2 bedrooms and pull out couch.

This room is so BIG that we never tripped over each other. When we were actually in the room the kids liked to play on the landing of the stairs, the upstairs balcony, and the laundry room. Someone would always be on the outside balcony. I remember there being 3 1/2 bathrooms and a big kitchen table.

YOU WILL LOVE THE GRAND VILLA. It's such a let down when the next vacation you only have enough points left for a studio

OKW is our home resort and every other year or so we have a family reunion with 8 adults and 3 children. The GV allows us all to be together, in accomodations that I could only previously have dreamed of.

Enjoy it! DS(11) would love to stay in a GV every time if he could.

We love the OKW GVs. The little bathroom in the hall of the first floor is one of the cutest decorated bathrooms in all of Disney! The living room is huge with the two story ceiling, and I like the wicker table and chairs in there. The dining room table is large enough for 10 and the laundry room is big enough to be a 4th bedroom! The only thing we aren't too pleased with is the arangement of the kitchen. That is only an issue if you plan to make full meals though. The sink is right next to the corner with the stove at a right angle to it, and it is very inconvenient to cook and clean up in there at the same time.

We always stay in a GV at OKW and love it. There are 11 of us going in May. It is so great to have your group together and have enough room to visit and play games, etc. We are taking 3 children this time and that is going to be great. Nothing is more fun than seeing the faces of children visiting WDW for the first time!!!!

Ooooh!! Yes PLEASE report back!! I've booked a GV at OKW for November and just can't wait to stay there! My husband and I are bringing our son, my mother, my grandmother and my aunt and I desperately want to make it a magical vacation - complete with a fireworks cruise, special dinners, a GF photoshoot, etc...and the GV will be the icing on the cake!!

Can't wait to hear/see all about it!!
