OKW for FL Residents?

I am thinking about reserving a 1-bedroom at OKW for January for relatives who live in Florida. Do any of you Florida residents enjoy OKW, or do you prefer something that is totally different from your state? VWL maybe?

I love each and every resort for it's uniqueness, Old Key West included. We own at OKW and have stayed there twice so far. Have ressies for next spring break already, too. We love the spacious units, especially for trips longer than just a few days. It's fantastic to look out and see the golfers, bunnies and have your car right outside. We like the Turtle Pond pool and whenever we take guests with us, always reserve at OKW.

We prefer BWV, VWL and soon BCV at Disney and HH for the offsite DVCs. OKW does not remind us of our home state FL I do not understand why it would. It has palm trees and golf courses but so does lots of other hotels around and on Disney property and in other southern state locations. DH and I lived in Key West before and right after we were married and OKW really does not remind us of the real Old Key West. Pick whatever DVC you like your relatives will be in Walt Disney World they will enjoy themselves.

I was born and raised here, and OKW <i>does</i> remind me of Florida.

Every year, we've spent a week at a condo on the West Coast beaches - and our trips to OKW remind me of our beach trips - minus the beach.

The lightly-colored furnishings, the beautiful landscaping, the sunny, airy feeling you experience.

And truthfully, even since I was about 18 and learned the evils of skin damage - we never go out onto the beach until sunset, anyway - so OKW is just about as good!

We have stayed at all of the DVC resorts 2 or more times - and I don't have a problem staying at <i>any</i> of them - but OKW holds a special place in my heart - we've stayed there over 15 times!

I was born in Ocala and lived there until I was a teenager then we moved to Key West and now live in Winter Park. OKW just does not remind me more of FL than alot of the other Disney hotels. I like them all.

I guess living in NY state, OKW reminds me of Florida. I live in the woods, so VWL is not on the top of my list, although they are gorgeous. (DH made me a park for our 25th anniversary--it's entrance reminds me of the WL entrance!) I love my park! But I like to stay in different surroundings when I vacation.
