I'm looking to try and request a certain area/bldg. for our upcoming trip. We usually go to WDW w/o children. This trip we will be introducing our almost 3 y.o. GD to the World :yay: . Anyway, we usually like the bldg.'s that are more secluded but this time we'd like something a little closer to the action, yet still kind of private. (impossible?) I'd like a water view of the river and not far from a pool & bus stop. Is there a room/bldg. like this that I can request at OKW. Looking at a resort map I can't really tell if these bldg.'s are on the water but they look like what I might be looking for, #'s 63, 64, 15 or 17, 18, 19. Can anyone tell me if any of these fit my request or what suggestions might you have? Your help is appreciated!:)

You might want to ask over on the DVC planning board. We're staying at OKW in June and got some great bldg info over on that board.

Hope that helps!

Hi Cindie-rella, OKW is our home resort and there are only two villas that are on the river 45 & 46. It is pretty far from the action and a walk to a bus stop. If you can request a Hospitality House room. These are now guaranteed rooms they are Buildings 11-14 and 23-26. They will put you close to the action and a bus stop. There are ponds throughout the resort with great water views. Good luck in deciding and welcome to our "Home"

When you say a "walk" from the bus stop, do you mean a pretty far walk? or a not so far walk? I don't really need to be right where the action is just as long as it is a bit of a shorter walk from the bus stop and a pool (even a quiet pool) near by. Spicy Cat gave me a great map, that helps a bunch. At least now I know where the water is at. I guess it must have been bldg.'s 45 & 46 we passed by 1st when we rented a pontoon last Dec.They were right along the river and as soon as we were nearing them I knew I had to try this resort. It looked so lush and beautiful! We love POR for all the landscaping so I guess that is what 1st attracted me to OKW and then the bldg.'s look so cozy. I can't wait!:yay: So Bldg.46 doesn't seem so far from a pool or the bus stop and if I can get a water view that would be perfect! Or am I wrong about that? I'm really trying to get my DH to buy into DVC and just want to get something that's really going to sell him on it.:thumbsup2

Oh, one other thing, are the DVC resorts usually pretty good at filling a request? Do I ask for a certain bldg. when checking in or before time?
Thanks again!

DVC tries to fill requests, but there's no guarantee. The walk from bldg 46 to the bus isn't bad and the bus stop is near the quiet pool (not the main pool with the slide - that's quite a hike). It isn't a super-short walk, but it's not too far. Maybe 3 or 4 min. at stroll speed. We asked for a Water View and got 46 a couple of years ago - it had a great canal view. It was fun to sit on the (very large) balcony and wave at folks as they went by in boats. Also got to see lots of ducks and bunnies. And it's very quiet.

Thanks DisFlan, that makes me even more sure that I want to request #46 water view. Do all the rooms have very large balconies? Like even the studio's there?
I just wish I could have booked a 1 bedroom! Too late now...next time, huh?;)

LOL...Saying "smaller" about OKW balconies is a relative thing. The studio balconies we've had are smaller than in the larger villas, but still larger than other balconies on WDW property - large enough for a dining table and 2 chairs. They're great for eating, just sitting and relaxing or reading. We love OKW balconies! The 2-bedroom balconies are huge - big enough for a large dining table and 4 or 6 chairs. The balconies we've had also have ceiling fans.

I wouldn't worry too much about what view or building you get at OKW if you don't get the one you request. They're all nice, and bus stops aren't that far away. It's a beautiful resort and you'll have a great time.
