OKW Bus Service?

I'm a new DVC member and will be staying at OKW in October during the Food and Wine Festival. I've recently read reviews regarding the bus service at this resort. I'm a little concerned because I've read more than one report complaining about the bus service. The common disappointment I've seen says it takes about 30 minutes for the bus to make all the stops inside OKW and then another 30 minutes to drive to the parks. Is this accurate? I'm sure there are several DVC members here who have stayed at OKW many times and can give me a realistic answer. I'm always careful to believe comments from someone who has only stayed at a particular resort once. I would love to hear from all of the "experienced" OKW guests who have stayed at this resort on several occasions.

I had a bus driver tell me that once the bus leaves the entrance to OKW, it takes about 8 minutes to get to the bus stop at the MK. Closer to Epcot and Disney Studios and bit further to AK.

The first stop is Peninsular Road, then South Point, Turtle Pond, Miller Road and finally Hospitality House. I don't think it takes 30 minutes to do the route.

Thirty minutes to do the OKW stops? I don't think so! Not even close. I would say 8-10 minutes is more like it.

We arrived at OKW yesterday...took the bus from Hospitality House thru the OKW "loop" to our room at Turtle Pond...took about 5 minutes...the wait was less than five minutes...

Also took the bus (from Turtle Pond stop) to Animal Kingdom (and back)...probably we just got lucky, but neither wait was longer than 5 minutes...and the total trip to & from AK was way less than a half hour...didn't actually time it, but I would guess the total was about 20 minutes...we went directly from OKW to AK...the bus driver said something about whether anyone was going to Blizzard Beach, but I didn't pay any attention as we were not going there...we did not stop there, but perhaps the normal route includes a stop at BB when going to AK? We did AK from around 4 til 8 (EMH yesterday night at AK...it was GREAT...very light crowds!), so BB was closed, so not sure our experience last night would hold true for daytime hours...

We get a MK bus this morning...will post again if it's noticeably different/worse ...

Well the person who said it took 30 minutes to do the loop at OKW either had a broken watch or a broken bus!!! It usually takes less than 10 minutes to do the entire loop unless they have to load a handicapped cart. Even that takes a very short time. We have rarely waited more than 10 minutes for a bus to come with the possible exception of mid afternoon. The buses do seem to run less frequently at that time of day. In the morning and evening though, we often see buses for each park running very close together.

By the way, is more than 30 visits enough of a history for you?
