Hello: We're 4 adults in a 2 bedroom, which building/room would you suggest for us? We like it not near a main road, not facing the parking lot and reasonably close to a hot tub. Thanks
There are 4 pools and 4 hot tubs throughout OKW. Each unit is not far from any one of these. None of the OKW units face the parking lots. Instead, they face the golf course, woods or water. The parking lots are at the entrance of each set of units. There will be a stairway serving units from ground to 2nd or 3rd floor, and parking will be at the bottom of those stairs.
This map should help you see where the villas are near the main roads. There are only a few. Buildings 50, 49, 42, and 41 are most likely to have some road disturbance. We stayed in 22 once, which is quite near the road, and had no problems at all with road noise. This map also shows how the parking lots for each building are right at the street side of the building. Just a note that building 64 does not have a parking lot.
Last year's hurricanes did take a toll on some of the vegetation along Bonnet Creek Parkway between the road & the OKW buildings. It seems to us that we could see more of the buildings after the hurricanes than on trips before the hurricanes. Just an observation... The map of OKW should help though.
On our last trip, we were in bldg 45, 2nd floor in a 2 bedroom. It had a lovely view of the canal that our 3 yo niece loved, and we didn't notice any road noise. We also weren't far from the South Point pool and bus stop.
If you're more interested in the main pool and the Hospitality House area, you'd want a closer building. Bldg. 45 is definitely NOT in easy walking distance.
We like being up close to the HH so we always reccomend building 63 or 64 they back on to the island green on the golf course and is really nice it also has an elevator if you get an upper floor and have little ones tired at the end of the night.
