OKW and room assignments

Hey everyone..... Just wondering about an upcoming trip. How are my chances of getting all our rooms close together? I have a 2-BR and 5 studios and 2 of the studios are requested handicapped. When I booked I did not request that they be close together. Should I have? Is it too late? We are on a wait list for a grand villa, but I am betting we don't get that. We really want it, but know how it goes... There is always next time. Oh, and we are going Jan 16-21. Let me know any thoughts you all have. Thanks so much...

Too, have any of you used the grills outside at OKW? Thought one night we would do hamburgers and hotdogs.

I don't know aboutgetting that many rooms together, but I would see if I could get it on the reservations (what can it hurt).

We have used the grills at OKW, and had a great cookout by the pool.

Definately call back and made sure it is on your reservation. I am not sure how easily that many rooms can be accomodated. Also, if you have a pref for a handicapped room that is not on the first floor, make sure you request an elevator building and non first floor. We requested elevator nonfirst floor, non handicapped and got in. We only requested the elevator because my FIL has difficulty climbing stairs but doens't need a handicapped room at this point, otherwise we would have bee nfine with stairts. Our rooms were in the same building but on different floors.

If you actually need two wheelchair accessible rooms, I would not try to put too many other preferrences into your request. Just ask for that and your rooms to be close together.

January is fairly slow (Generally) so you should be ok as far as the resort being full (more options). If the reservations are booked all in the same name it would not be necessary to request the rooms together, they will do that automatically (with same name reservations checking in on the same day). If they are in different names or any of them check in on a different date, definetly make sure that you have the request to be together on the reservation. It is never to late to add requests to the room. Keep in mind with that many rooms and 2 needing to be accessible, they might be able to get you all in the same building but they may also get some of you in one building and some in the building next door. I work at OKW, I checked in a res today that had 4 studios and 1-2 bedroom and they had 3 studios and the 2 bedroom in the same building and the other studio in the next building over, so provided the room assigners know you are traveling together they will do all they can to keep you as close as they can

January should not be a problem with at least getting in the same building. We just got back (Thanksgiving Week) and had a 2br and 2 studios and we were in the same building just different floors.

You could always try to check in early and at least ask if they could be in the same building. Have a great time.

the room controller needs to know it advance your request.

Especially for the handicapped rooms - they assign them FIRST.

everyone else

since some of your rooms are handicapped and you want them together - I am assuming the room controller will try to assign them all at once.

but again - this is not a request to wait for - call MS now.

Last September for my wedding I had a 1BR and 6 studios at BCV. I requested on the ressie that they be close. I got there very early the day of checkin and the CM at the front desk was able to move some around to unassigned rooms to get them to be a little closer. So I would suggest definitely getting MS to put it on the ressie, but then also if possible get there very early the day of checkin and see what the front desk can do for you. I think the slowness of the season is to your advantage to shuffle things at the front desk.
