We are planning a trip down in January. Staying our first time at OKW. We have friends that are also DVC members that live in FL. We were going to get a one bedroom home- and we were hoping they would come up for a few days and stay near us-- are there one bedrooms with connecting studios? Or does that exist just for the two bedrooms?
Thanks

A 1BR with a connecting studio is a 2BR lockoff. Yes, those exist but there is no guarantee that they will be able to assign your friends the studio that connects to your 1BR. That will be completely dependent upon availability

That studio would need to be empty or the previous occupants checking out that morning. And with "room ready", your friends would have to get there right after the room became available in order to secure it.

I would think that they could probably get in the same vicinity as you (Miller's Road, etc) but unlikely to get the connecting studio.

Thanks
Is Millers Pond the only locale that offers the connecting rooms?
We were going to ask to stay at Turtle pond if it is available

We did this a few years ago with family who were paying for their room. It was suggested that they check in on the same day as opposed to coming down in the middle of our stay. This way we could wait for the availability if we chose, but it still wasn't guaranteed.

They said it was easier for them to look for two open rooms that connect that way.

We did it this way and had no problems at all. We checked in earlier in the day then they did but they marked our request again. When our family arrived they did the same thing. We all went to MK and our rooms were ready when we returned @ 5pm.

All areas have lockoff units. Your best bet is to book a 2-bedroom lockoff if you want to have an adjoining studio to your one bedroom. There are no guarantees of getting a 1 bedroom and studio together if they are booked separately.
