Okay, what's the FIRST thing that tells you, "Wow, we are DEFINITELY at WDW!" ??

Last year it was getting to MCO, but this year we are driving from NY and it will probably be either the palm trees or the hotel.

Welcome to Disney World sign does it for me as well. All the billboards up before that get me excited but until we hit the arch it isn't 100% real yet.

The billboards always get us excited too. DD likes to point out each one of them. We feel like we are really at WDW when we pass by the Welcome to Disney World sign.

To me the purple signs say we're here, but Main St. says we're "finally here"

Seeing those purples road signs. Where else in the world do you see them? Certainly not here in NJ.

All WE get to see are those GREEN "EXIT __" signs from the NJ Turnpike!!

well i get excited as soon as i get in the car but it really hits me that we're there when we first enter our resort and check in :Pinkbounc

There is the build up from the time we leave, but when I enter the resort lobby... WOW!!! :cool1:

Once we drive under that welcom Arch, I am crying because we are finally therel.... :jumping1:

What a lot of others have said....

-The monorail to the main terminal.
-The billboards
and mainly....Driving under the Disney arch.

Driving under the Welcome Arch...and screaming "We're in Disney World!!!"

Our family does the same thing. Once we see the sign we know we are there

The moment the plane touches down in Orlando.
We are off and running. :moped:

:earsgirl: :earsboy:

I agree...

I start bouncing as soon as we start our descent. We look out the windows at that flat, scrubby landscape and I think it's the most beautiful sight in the world.

Lord help me while we're taxiing. I want to knock people down to get off the plane. I practically run through the airport, beam on the monorail, and jump up and down while I'm waiting on the luggage.

Once I pick my car off the Emerald Aisle, it's time to put the windows or top down, crank up 95.7 (I think), put on my shades and cruise out. I have chills just thinking about it.

I love Orlando. Not just WDW, but the whole city. I honestly would love to live there, even if I didn't have AP's. One of my best friends just moved there, and I'm so envious! I love going downtown on weekends and walking up and down Orange Ave, trying to decide what club to go to...I love HOB on Sunday nights...we'll be starting our vacation in September off with that party!

DH says he doesn't feel like he's at WDW til he goes to MK or Epcot and gets his picture taken in front of Cinderella's Castle or Spaceship Earth.

2 things-getting off the airplane and having that blast of hot air hit me :goodvibes and then driving under the Walt Disney World sign :goodvibes :goodvibes

ETA: I also have to go by the Disney shop at MCO and rub Mickey's nose whether coming or going. Just one of those things I HAVE to do. Yep, I know-I'm over 50. :teeth:

As soon as we drive under the Welcome to Disney World signs and see the charcters and disney street signs.......I feel that I am at home. :bounce: :goodvibes  ::MickeyMo  ::MinnieMo

Seeing the palms trees as we taxi to the gate at MCO. "WE MADE IT!" :cool1:

Everytime we drive under the welcome sign we start singing the "M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E" song from the old Mickey Mouse Club show and then when I step onto Main Street and see Cindy's Castle! princess: Then I know I am in my Happy Place!!!!! :flower:
