I was sent an email today about DL releasing a CM pin the other day. It is LE 3000 and comes in a tin. It looks from what I am told a lot like this one released a few years ago.

The first one released...

The second one just released (pic from ebay)

What I want to know has Disney run out of new ideas or just forgot they already made this pin. I understand there is a difference in that the tin has a different name on it over Walts name. Is it also a Pin Back as the first one was a broach style.

here is a better pic. of the pin released for the 40th anniversary and sold at DL & WDW

I guess I would also wonder how this pin can be a LE 3000 when they released Many of these in 95 ?
Does this mean WDW or DL can remake a DA LE 100 pin and release it as a LE 5000?

I just heard that some are saying that it is a different pin... Cause the first one was le 1500 and this is le 3000 (how that makes a diff I have no idea) and the color is bonze verus gold... Okay that makes it alright.

So I have a yellow wet paint and a gold one... Which one is better?

Please... I have spent the better part of 20 years collecting Disneyana and I could not even say that with a straight face.

This is a JOKE... Disney made a mistake. Now as a collector I would like to see them stand up and admit it... I won't hold my breath...

Shows again how Disney just considers pins to be merchandise and not a collectable...

On a side note.... A pin like this will be cool to have in a few years as long as you have both. It is what does become a collectable.... A piece that has a story.... Eisner -v- Disney....

I can't believe that you all do not see what is really involved here...

I am assuming that this LE and tin is real, and not a fabrication from some one with Photo Shop...

The pin is not important, except for the fact that a LE was essentially re-released. That shows a lot of respect for all the pin collectors out there, huh?

The real "slap in the face" is that on the new tin, a new name tag covers the "Walt" name tag. And the name on that name tag... Michael.

Apparently, this "message from Michael", is a petty effort to further rub Roy's face in the ground in view of recent events, and to declare to all in the company, including the pin collectors, that "Michael" is now above, and eclipses, "Walt".

For those of my generation, that will never be.

I am totally astonished that a man with so much power and annual income from the company, would stoop to such a low level to embarass the Disney name, and accord the founder and creative genius of the company such little respect.

I AM FURIOUS...

I agree, this is very wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish Micheal was not there! SIGH>>>I hope they fix this stuff, its not right to take away the joy of LE and value of pins:(

You are so right Dave about the tin. I went into that on my message board. I said it was disrespectful.
I also wrote many emails last night to Disney Corporate, Disney leadership and Disney managers.
I used the words LACK OF INTEGRITY AND DISRESPECTFUL Alot.
If this company wishes to take a shot at Roy Disney that is one thing, but you DON'T do it to the founder and dream maker of this company.

It will be interesting to see this play out... Thank you Larry for the info on the emails you sent. Please keep us updated...

I'm totally with you guys that say the biggest problem here is the disrespect of having the name MICHEAL now laying over the top of the WALT name badge. Either some "artist" (and I will now use that term loosely to describe this person) was on a major suck up, I hope I get a promotion mood - or it was a very odd co-incidence - or someone's ego has gotten even more out of control.

I seriously doubt it was the second one.

This LE is trash

It's very sad that it has come to this.

Keep up to date on what Roy Disney and Stanley Gold are doing to "take back Disney" on Roy Disney's website Save Disney

Has anyone been able to confirm that this pin is the real deal? Making ME's arrogance public in this manner surprises even me...

The pin was an insult a blatant attack by Eisner to Roy, a I’ll show you who is in charge. Michael Eisner already said it “My board my rules I’m in charge”

To put ones names over Walt’s is so disrespectful it’s not even funny.

Disney was started by Disney not Eisner what is the next step renaming it Eisner World.

How can we help? Easy don’t buy or trade for this pin. Don’t bid on it, if you already bought it take it back, and let it sit there with minimal sales this will sent a message back to the powers that be, but if the pin sells out, it will just prove as Disney brass has stated before… Pin traders will buy anything as long as it has a pin back on it.

search... cast pin badge...

You'll see a good pic of the box top. Kinda like grafitti isn't it?

I guess LE 3000 is just pin-trader talk for limited edition, only 3000. I thought it was a model number.

Still not sure what to think, but I'm leaning towards a hoax. Is it common for a pin to come out on ebay first ?

Just checked eBay and couldn't find it either - even under cast pin badge. Something is smelling fishy.

The picture of the top of the tin doesn't look right either. The Michael tag looks a bit like it is just laying on top

The pin is real... That is the problem I wish it was a fake.
