I worried about missing the change of seasons when we moved to Arizona, and it's still an adjustment in some ways. The biggest adjustment is getting rid of the mindset that winter is coming, so we must start preparing for the weather ahead. Things like winterizing the pool, bringing in outdoor furniture for the winter, putting the bicycles away, buying new show shovels to replace the dented ones from the year before, stocking up on salt and sand, and realizing that a lot of places (miniature golf, theme parks, outdoor dining, etc.) close for the winter.
Here none of that is necessary.

I spent over fifty years living in a part of the country that has four seasons (some too short and others too long) and now I'm more than happy to live where it's hot for a few months, then gorgeous for about eight months.
I can't say I regret living in the Northeast for all those years. We raised our family there and had wonderful times in all kinds of weather. If we had truly hated it, we wouldn't have stayed in a place that had long, cold winters. However, the older we got, the less we enjoyed it. We always said we'd probably move to warmer climates when the kids were grown and out of school. And indeed we did! Now, we are loving living in a part of the country that has an abundance of warm temps and sunshine.
