Okay...so, humor me...please??!!!

1) BWV
2) BCV
3) VWL
4) OKW
5) SSR

Never stayed at OKW or SSR, but love being close to Epcot and MK. I suspect OKW could move to #3 if we stayed there. Own at BCV, but for some reason just like lots of things about BWV. Stormalong Bay is not as great a draw for us as for others. VWL is very nice, but a bit "dark" for our tastes.

#1` Bwv (so Much To Do)
#2 Bcv (storm Along Bay)
#3 Okw (low Points & Great Playground And Water Slide)
#4 Vwl (never Stayed)
#5 Ssr (like Okw But More Points)

With 12 more yrs that puts me at 99yrs old so thats has nothing to do with. Could it be that SSR is my 1st choice because thats where I want to stay.Guess thats it. And we love it just the way it is.

1. BCV
2. BWV
3. OKW
4. VWL
5. SSR

We have stayed at all but VWL, but (not to start anything), we personally didn't care for SSR so that is why I put it after VWL even though I've never tried VWL.

I'm sorry this post is coming right after your's Stitch1404, I have been meaning to say this, but you just reminded me.

I don't understand how people can vote for a resort that they have never stayed at. Personally, had I taken this poll prior to this past December, and not taking into account that I had only stayed at 2 (the first 2 listed) my vote would have been

VWL
OKW
BCV
BWV
SSR

But now (well a few pages ago) I actually voted

VWL
BCV
OKW

and that is all we voted on because we have yet to stay at SSR and BWV.

Both my husband and I stayed at BC a few years ago before it was DVC. We did not like the resort for many many reasons. We had never stayed at BWV, but just do not care for the theming. Yet after staying at BCV this past Dec we love this resort.

In conclusion, how can people vote on an order of preference without actually staying at the resort?

by looking at what a resort has to offer.

I KNOW I would like the marriot beach club at HH better then the marriot in south detroit. yet I have never stayed at either..........

ITA!!! By knowing what your family "likes" and "dislikes". We have not actually stayed at SSR (we have stayed at the other 4 on-site properties), but we toured it (actually the Grand Villas), and spend a couple of hours exploring the property. It just did not do much for us. Granted, it was REALLY warm that day, and walking the resort made us feel like we were walking around an apartment complex in our early marriage years...a feeling we don't want to pay that much to repeat. ;) But, it was easy to see that SSR did not hold any appeal for our family.

I have not stayed at any of the WDW moderates or values...why? When I take my vacation time and money to go to WDW...I like going deluxe all the way. There are some that I might not "mind" too much if the price was right (POR, POFQ, and CB), but then there are others that I would HATE (all the values, and since I lived in Arizona for 11 years...CS...I've had enough of "Mexican" theming). I don't actually have to stay there to know that I don't like them. Although, the food court area at CB is INSANE!!! I don't know if I could really stay at a moderate.

On the opposite end, we were staying at BWV (our first trip "home"), and I was discussing the different resorts with my very sweet friend jekjones1558. I remember saying to her, "I don't think I would like BCV as well as BWV....it doesn't look like it would have great views, and I would rather stay at BWV for the std view pts." Then, one day on that trip...dh and I went and looked at BCV (like we did all resorts), and fell in LOVE!!! I had never "stayed" there, but I just "knew" it was for us....it felt like "home" (albeit, a luxurious one). That's when I came home and sold my points to buy at BCV. Talk about "eating my words"!!!!

Sometimes, when you look at pics, you can know that a place is "for you" or not, and sometimes touring a resort is all you need. Given, the BEST way to know about a resort is to stay there....but, there are many resorts at WDW that I don't want to spend my valuable vacation time to stay at, so I just have to make the best guess possible.

Gee, I feel totally dissed. I just wrote that I did not think I would like BCV because I did not like BC. Then I actually give the resort (BCV)a try, and like it. Go figure, guess I am a dork :confused3 .

Edited to add that I did not like BC and I had actually stayed there a few days.

1. BWV
2. BCV
3. VWL
4. OKW
5. SSR

Side note: Beca, everyone here must love you because they are certainly turning out in droves to make this effort a success!! :thumbsup2

Beca, I'm amazed at the amount of work you're doing! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you-this is really interesting.
Also, has anyone noticed that the #1 resort for the majority of people, and the least favorite of the least number of people (I hope I said that right) is BCV, which seems to me gets the most # of complaints about problems with front desk issues, cleanliness, etc. Is it just me-maybe since it's my #1 resort, I overly sensitive whenever I read a BCV complaint-or does it seem that BCV gets slammed a lot? Yet, it came out here remarkably ahead of everywhere else. That kind of surprised me.

Now, we've only stayed at VWL and have another trip planned at SSR in 6 weeks. BUT, the order I would have my heart set on (and of course this fluctuates depending on what is going on there...MNSSHP, MVMCP, Food and Wine, etc) -

1. VWL - LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Wilderness Lodge. Nothing compares to it. Will probably add on points from there through re-sale.

2. BCV - Only because I have feeling we would hang at the pool the entire week.

3. SSR - Home Resort.

4. OKW

5. BWV

We do hope in the future to stay at all of them. I am certain with time, we will.

Becca,

Thanks for doing this, I know it's a lot of work.

1) BWV - It's our Home Resort. Love the atmosphere, location and std points!

2) BCV - Again love the atmosphere, location and SAB!

3) OKW - Haven't stayed here yet. But I've always thought it looked lovely. Staying here in July.

4) VWL - Have only stayed in the lodge, not the villas. But I liked it too.

5) SSR - Haven't stayed here yet. But I think it looks nice, too. I stayed here before it was SSR.

It was hard to place the last three, because they are all nice but in different ways.

Muushka....I'm sorry you feel dissed...I didn't mean it...really!!! :love2:

Here's the update:

Interesting. I'm suprised BCV is so highly rated. We like it but wouldn't have thought so many would have (especially given the posts!).

Another point. It looks like VWL does have a love/hate thing going on like MG was saying. It has double the number of people wanting it first over the number of rooms while it also has double the number of people wanting it last.

I first looked at DVC when BCV was first being sold. I passed on it then. I looked again a couple years later; again I passed on it. SSR opened up, I bought some points. Suppose you have never been to Hawaii or Timbuktu, can you state a preference for where you'd rather go? I would say yes, you can state a preference without staying at the resort. There is a difference between preferences where you would like to go versus preferences of places that you have been.
