(I think you mean "attracted" here, but OK, I get it now. I would *hope* that the answer is yes. Probably is for some, not for others. Started to elaborate on that, but it got catty, so I'll just leave the thought as is.

Yep, I meant "attracted".

What's going on, guys? My boards are a total snore tonight. Good! I can do something productive! Is everyone on a date or something? It's Wednesday night!!

It's been snooze city on the DIS for a few days now. Hardly anyone seems to be around. I'm trying to get motivated to do my Econ homework. I spent 4 hours in the math lab today catching up on ALL my Algebra homework. :earseek:

No dates tonight for me Doc...just school.

TB- I completely agree with your assesment. I think that a fairly "average" looking man can become completely more "attractive" to you as you become involved in their personality.

And as CA mentioned it works the same way backwards...just like that saying that "a guy was cute...until he opened his mouth." Sometimes a nasty (or even just undeveloped) personality can reduce the "attractiveness" of a man. At least in my opinion.

I would also assume this to be the same for a man. Or else no woman who wasn't drop dead gorgeous would ever find and become involved with a man.

Definitely looking forward to Friday night...I want to fast forward through tomorrow already ;)

Everyone that I have spoken to from last weekend's party has expressed to me how "nice" of a guy "work guy" seemed. :) Don't need the reassurance of these people, but it never hurts to know that others can see good and positive qualities in someone you are interested in.

We haven't heard from FLMinnie in a while......her date must have gone REALLLLLLLY well :smooth: Wonder if we should start planning her wedding shower?? It can be a joint moving party for Sandy/bridal shower for Suzanne!!!

I had my interview Friday. They offered me the job, but I couldn't say one way or another because they never mentioned what the job paid. So I asked what the salary range was for this position. The one said that the cost of living is less here and the other one said we pay more than the hospital. Neither one gave me an actual number! After more talking and they toured me around the place, one lady suddenly threw out an amount per hour. It was $2 less than what I made up my mind that I would accept and I told them that and they laughed like there was no way I would get that. They said if I had recent experience I would get .50 cents more an hour. So, what they offered me is $7.50/hr LESS than I make now or about $15,000/yr. Is the cost of living that much less there??? I asked about benefits and she showed me a paper about the health insurance, the copays, and amount I would pay per month. I asked if they had other benefits and the one didn't know. The other said they had a SEP??? IRA but you couldn't contribute for 2 yrs. and then you were fully vested. Employer contributed 3 out of every 5 yrs and the most you could put in was $3500/yr. That was it for benefits! I almost laughed out loud. So, what do you all think? Is it really worth it to live in the same town as my mom and sister instead of being 2 hours away from them, and live in a less crowded hectic area?

Have a GREAT time tomorrow night, DIS845. ;) You're right...seems Suzanne has vanished with the new boyfriend! :smooth: Haven't seen her around. Hmmm...now she will have to give a detailed report! :smooth:

Today I put my foot in my mouth BIG TIME! I had been e-mailing quite a bit with a friend about darling heart throb. In all the back and forth of it, I somehow sent it to HIM rather than her! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK! :earseek: You have no idea what I went through to try and get it back before he could read it. I had called AOL once before about something I sent. They said once you send mail to an internet recipient, cannot get it back. :crazy2: I called HIS ISP. Their opinion is that once an e-mail is sitting in someone's account waiting, it's now their property and NOT yours! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK! So they would not delete it or send it back to me. So I was sweating it out. This evening I got an e-mail from him that he received an interesting e-mail from me that he's sure I did not intend for him. Okay...I had EVERYTHING in here! The fact that I've cared about him since high school...30 years ago! How many people do you fall in love with throughout your life...not many! Etc., etc., etc.! He was okay with it and said...do not worry! WHAT A GUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: From now on, I will be checking those e-mail addresses at least 3 times before clicking "send!"

 OMG! OMG! OMG!

Well, the ball is definitely in his court now!!!!! It sounds like his response couldn't have been better. Now lets see what he does once he thinks about it.....:D

You're right, TigerBear. His response couldn't have been better! :teeth: :Pinkbounc That's one of the things I really like about him. He's always so easy going.

Suzanne 's here. Been a hetic week. Had a field trip with my kids the past three days in the wilderness. Came home after day one to be greeted by my AP. My father and I work at the same school and she came out to let me know that he was being transported by EMS to the ER. What a night that ended up to be. He didn't have a heart attack like they had expected. He goes to see my dr here in a couple of weeks to get all checked out. So say the least, he scared the dickens out of us!

I never knew how hard it was to juggle a boyfriends with the rest of my life. Everything was going well and then he and I had an interesting conversation last night. He has a couple of issues to straightened out for himself, so the ball is in his court right now. I don't have the energy or the time to sit here to figure out if he really meant what he said, if ya know what I mean. I'm really beginning to understand why I have dated the past five years. I'm too old for some of this junk!

Also my house is a mess! The builder didn't put our tile in right five years ago, so they are in the process this week of redoing it all. We've been eating out, our fridge is in our family room and I don't even have a door on my bathroom! I'm ready for a vacation! At least I"m going to WDW this Saturday!

Sorry no juicey details as there are none to tell. Hope everyone else is doing great!

Hi, Suzanne! You've been missed! I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad. Thank goodness it wasn't a heart attack!! Do you know what it was? Make sure he keeps that appointment with his doctor. Sometimes people start feeling better and they cancel. Make sure he gets there. Hope you had fun with the kids! :teeth: And sorry about the boyfriend complications. I hope things work out for you!

NO we don't know what caused it. He was teaching and the room started spinning and he collapsed. He was clammy and vomited when they brought him to the office. His blood pressure was high. My mother is taking the afternoon off to make sure he goes and tells the DR everything. If he didn't go, I have a whole school full of teachers that will drag him!

Great, Suzanne! It sounds like he has a lot of people that care about him! :) I hope he's okay. Maybe he needs bp meds.

FM -- that sounds awfully scary; i hope everything turns out all right.

PW -- that is a nightmare!!! i would have had to have buried my head in the sand!!!!!!! i'm already paranoid about that happening, especially with IM's. with an entire letter... :o !!

legs -- good luck with the decision. i couldn't tell you what i'd do; no clue. i will probably be facing a similar thing if i ever try to move back home, but it would be more like $30K less and a 12-hour drive. even with the huge cost of living differences between here and there, it's so much better for me to be here! :sunny: <-- especially since it's COLD there right now :teeth:

Ok it's 6:04 am which is entirely to early for me. I am off to dress a model for a staples print add. I hope everyone has a good day. I'll catch you all later, after I am done and have returned the zillions of clothes I bought yesterday for this thing.

PW- At least he knows now how you really feel about him! Now the ball's in his court.

FLMinnie- Glad your Dad's okay. Make sure he follows up with the doctor. How do you like working in the same place as your dad? I think it would be great.

SuperGro- I want your job! Sounds interesting and fun :D

I think interviewing with this other job made me realize how blessed I am in salary, benefits, and other perks with the job I have now. I think that other job is a *significant* cut in pay. I have never taken a pay cut in my working career. When I went back to work after being a SAHM for 3 yrs, I picked up right where I left off salary-wise even though I went to work for a different company. And the lack of benefits blows me away because I work for a company that is one of the top 100 companies for working mothers. There is an entire book of benefits! What do you mean you only have health insurance and an IRA! How about a pension, 401k with the company matching every year, and company stock. I already have my own IRA thank you very much. And the company has a elementary charter school. These two jobs are at opposite ends of the spectrum. I just don't think it would be a logical, sane decision to accept this other job. I think I'll just stay here and keep this job.:teeth:

You're not kidding, Jen! :scared1: :scared: :crazy2: I ALWAYS tell myself to be careful putting those e-mail addresses in!! I don't know how this happened. Right after I clicked "send," I noticed it. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK! His starts with mf, the friend I intended to send it to starts with ml. Must be the eyes in the 40s! :earseek:

Don't let this thread die! I'm waiting for my man to come over for the weekend. Tomorrow night we are going to the theater to see Proof - really looking forward to it! He also wants to see ROTK on the IMAX screen so it should be a fun weekend. I'm so glad his boards are over - lets hope he passed.

I got a letter today from my ex m-i-l telling me that her mother died last month. I sat and bawled. I think the only words the woman could say in English were "I love you" - but I can not tell you how many times I heard those words from her. So different from my own grandmother's reaction - she "disowned" me because of the color of his skin. :(

Leggs, it sounds to me like you are making the right decision.
FM, I am so happy it wasn't a heart attack.

I'm sitting at home on a Friday on my computer. Was suppose to go out to dinner, not with my guy though, but DD fell asleep in my arms. Nixed that idea out the window. My friend that set us up said that if he said he's going to call, he'll call. Apparently his last relationship was really really bad, so that explains some. Well, I be busy grading papers this weekend and getting my house back into order since the workers are done now!

Hey PW Glad to see that your guy is so understanding.

I'm pooped and it's freezing outside.
