Okay...I've called the Late Night DISers, now I'm calling the SINGLE DISers!

I love/hate days off....I love them because I envision myself getting caught up doing things, like housework (folding those mountains of laundry) or schoolwork (mostly a heck of a lot of reading), or running random errands I just never have time for, ohhh and sleeping in...who can forget the best part!!! But I hate them because I seem to waste away the day and get nothing productive done...

Since I have been up this morning I took a shower, got dressed, finished reading this book I was almost done with (pleasure reading not school  ) played outside with the dog for awhile and am now DISing.....I moved the laundry basket up onto my bed to prepare to fold it, but then left the room :)

I even entertained the idea of going shopping (ok PW stop laughing at me!!!) but I know I shouldn't, I should be productive (not destructive to my wallet!! ;) ).

Who else has the day off and is wasting it away?? Or better yet, who is making good use of it-I need a role model!!!! ;)

Sorry I'm no help for you, Disney845. I've been DISing all WEEKEND myself! I have plenty of homework myself. Hmmm...I intended to get it done at the beginning of the weekend. DISing is much more fun and so addictive!

PW...the bad movie was Mona LIsa's Smile. He thought I had dragged him to a chick flick, but I wouldn't even call it that. It was a looooooooooooooooooong movie!
That's funny Florida Minnie! I worked on that movie for a couple of really loooooooong weeks. I didn't meet Julia Roberts, but I did see her on set and she does have the biggest teeth I have ever seen on a human. I have a bunch o f those silly beanies that they wore somewhere around my house. I had thought that movie was going to be so different. Unfortunately it was long and you didn't end up caring about anyone really. Oh well. The best actress in it was Ginnifer Goodwin I thought. She is also in "Win a Date With Tad Hamilton" That looks cute. I saw "Calendar Girls" yesterday. That was a very sweet movie. Definatley a chick flick though. I wanted to see "Love Actually" but it was hours away.

I'll stop rambling now.

OK where are you guys....it is so lonely on here tonight!!

I had a horribly unproductive day and didn't get anything done ;) Hope some of you did better than I did with your day off!!

TB- Hope your computer issue is getting resolved, we would love to have you back posting regularly.

Doc- Hope that your meds have been working for you and that you are feeling better!!

Barry- Did you go to the festival? How was it??

FLMinnie- Tonight was the baseball exhibt night right?? Hope that your date went well!!

H_O_P- How did your "date" with the "older gentleman" go?? ;)

SK8MOM- Yesterday was Sunday...do we have any updates about "cop cutie?"

Hey I'm Here. Just watching the News. Apparently someone took over making PA announcements at Logan Airport. Not only were the announcements false, the perpetrator, who is unknown, made these announcements in Donald Ducks voice.

I didn't go to the faire yet because no one wants to go with me. :( I planned this as a DIS meet, but no one has shown interest. I have the worst luck with DIS meets. Either no one shows interest or I get stood up. Very seldom will people actually show up to my meets. Sometimes I wonder why I bother to plan any. Anyway, those who come to the meets I plan are rewarded laviously (it's my little secret...don't tell anyone!).

Hey there! I've done a really good job of staying off of here lately. The meds started working away, pretty much no pain 24 hours later. Good stuff! Thanks for asking. (Oh, the good meds were the steroids; I only took one dose of the Darvocet).

I can't decide if today was a good day or bad day. I had of course planned on being more productive and maybe doing something social. I did neither. However, I got a call from an ooooooold friend who hunted me down via my mom. This is weird because it's the 2nd time it's happened this month, though the first friend & I had only been out of touch for maybe 18 months. Anyway, it was my freshman roommate. She started talking about how she's a SAHM now of 4 and how she went through this sense of being overwhelmed with managing the house and her life. She told me about this system at www.flylady.net that she started using, and it really has helped her to shape up her life. Funny that she would mention that since it's one of my two big resolutions for the new year. So, I decided to give up any productivity goals for the day and just check out this system. It does sound like it's right up my alley. So, for any of you who have issues with procrastination, you might want to check it out. The best thing is that they send you e-mail reminders. Since I gravitate to my computer when I want to procrastinate, that is perfect for me.

So... what else? Oh I did make it to my vet school alumni reception held down at the conference that's in town. I was a little disappointed with the turn-out, but I did get to spend hours chatting with a friend who came down from Maryland. It was great; I really need a little encouragement now and then about professional matters. I also got the number of a vet couple from my school who live in town now. So, that might turn into a nice little social outlet. The guy was even trying to recruit me as a singer in his band. Sigh... how I wish I could sing. :D I could sure use a creative outlet.

I'm loving reading about all of your dates. Everyone is having such great luck! ::yes:: Disney845 -- Did I miss the kiss? I hope not. I love the suspense! :teeth: The shy thing is just soooooooooooo cute!

Barry -- was the fest going on this weekend? This was my Sunday off. BOOT to the head!

Speaking of Sundays off, I'm a little put off. I've been working every Saturday (other than vacations) for like 9 months, with the understanding that it was temporary due to our only having 2 doctors rather than the 3 we really need. Well... boss just hired another doctor the other day, but his wife (business manager) calls me and says I'll still have every other Sunday off. I was in the middle of the reception so didn't say anything about it, but REALLY how long do they think anyone's going to work there if they can't ever have a Saturday off? I'm so tired of missing out on everything.

Oh, who am I kidding? I can't get out of bed to go to a festival or garage sale anyway. :p

Hey... this FlyLady thing even e-mails me to tell me to go to bed! I love it! If only you could have her remind you to get back to your homework, huh? :p

G'night, all.

Oh-- I meant to say that's kinda funny about the Donald Duck PA voice. I don't know if I would have known whether to laugh or be concerned. :D

DR -- the Faire was last weekend and will continue this weekend. Good thing you didn't come Sunday because it rained the entire morning.

That's me! On the computer ALL THE TIME! It's much more fun than work. However, I do have some work to do for my computer class. Maybe I'll like that better than algebra...blech! :scared: :crazy2: <~~~I've been dying to use these guys! Why did I just NOW notice..."Get More!?" :earseek:

Barry...I am sorry. :( I am really bad with weekends, generally work both Sat and Sun :( Ok scratch that I am bad for all days...I either work or have school every single day of the week (with the exception of special days like yesterday)!! That leaves no time for travelling a great distance to visit with anyone. But I hope that you have a good time this weekend if you decide to go by yourself.

Nope, not yet!!! Although I am determined to make an effort this Friday night. I am definitely getting the feeling that he wants to, so maybe with some added encouragement, such as hand holding during the movie, or walking to the car, for example, that he will get the hint to take the initiative. ;)

So, as I said to a friend, I guess I still got it!!

Now someone tell me how to prevent this from happening in the future? [/B]

Hey guys, I am back!! :D I'm trying to catch up on all the posts I missed while my computer was in a coma. This one I couldn't pass up. I am ROTFLMAO!! :p

Hee hee. My first boyfriend took FOUR months to give me a real kiss. Of course, we were 16/17, so it was a bit different, but still very slow-moving for even that age at that time. That still to this date remains my longest relationship. ;)

You know, it's nearing the end of the month, and I don't have any dates in mind for next month. This feels like homework. I think I'm going to have to start going to the gym just to pick up guys. There was a cutie at the laundromat, and it got me thinking... why don't we have a laundromat/coffee shop/pub around here? Or do they even exist? Hmmmm... who wants to invest? :teeth:

Hey TB! I missed you!

I just went through a computerless phase, too. What a pain!!!

Oh, Barry -- then I guess I'm glad I didn't drive down there. There's not a whole lot out there that is SO entertaining that I will get soaked in the rain for it. I am turning into a complete fuddy duddy!

I have missed y'all too!! Glad you are feeling better Doc!

Wow, there have been a lot of dates while I was gone!!

Coaster, I definitely think that if a man's personality is attractive, he becomes more physically attractive too. I think this is true for a lot of women. I wonder if it works the other way around? Men, any opinions?

Disney, can't wait to hear about the first kiss! It definitely sounds like we will be hearing about it soon!

PW, congratulations on your move. I am a little curious as to why your darling heart trob hasn't said much about your move. I wonder what is motivating his silence? Has he told you how he feels about you? I know from experience how hard it is to be in love with a man when he is not quite there yet. I definitely wish you the best!

TB, by "the other way around" do you mean that if someone has an *unattractive* personality they begin to seem less physically attractive? I've had that happen. Or did you just wonder if men ultimately find a wonderful personality more engaging than good looks?

Anyway, that certainly is what's going on. He's just so amazingly nice, and considerate, and attentive--somebody pinch me, I'm wondering if this is really happening or if it's just one really vivid hallucination.

Welcome back, TigerBear!

Your first comment is true for me also. It's happened to me in the past.

Thanks for the congrats! :) No, he hasn't mentioned how he "feels." And I'm not pushing it! Thanks for the good wishes.

I wonder if a woman's personal appearance can grow on a man? Is this as common an experience for men as it is for women? For example, if a man meets an average looking women and likes her personality, does he become more physically attractive to her? That is my question - not whether looks or personality is utilimately more important. Does that make sense?

I am glad you are so happy! :D

(I think you mean "attracted" here, but OK, I get it now. I would *hope* that the answer is yes. Probably is for some, not for others. Started to elaborate on that, but it got catty, so I'll just leave the thought as is.

WoW! We've got so many singles here who are having such good luck in their dates lately, that this thread is going to have to turn into the "happily attached" thread. :p I had better get out there and take advantage of this run of good luck!! I'm happy for EVERYONE :bounce: (even if it leaves me here all by my lonesome, hee hee :smooth: )
