Okay...I've called the Late Night DISers, now I'm calling the SINGLE DISers!

My sister arrived at Toys-R-Us this morning at 6 am while I stayed at her house with the kids. She said it was crazy but got what she wanted. I try to avoid all that. I would rather pay double the price than go through that madness.
We will go out later for some leisurely shopping.

Why is it called Black Friday? I've never heard that term before. Is it because it is the most profitable shopping day for the retail stores?

The high today will be a lot more than 64. My sister said it is getting hot outside. Tomorrow is supposed to be cold.

To me the guy in Elf looks like Bob from the Bachelor.

LOL! I wouldn't know because I don't watch the bachelor. Geezz...I rarely watch anything on TV. Can't remember how long ago I watched something...a couple months I guess. And that was The Nanny...that show just cracks me up. And to see Bob Newhart dressed as an elf was NOT a pretty sight! LOL!

HaHa...the guy from Elf is that Sat. Night Live Guy...Will Ferral or something like that. I agree that he does sort of resemble Bob from the Bachelor. But I don't think either of them are good looking. I also don't think Will is funny. Never liked him on SNL, haven't liked him in any of the movies I have seen him in. My best friend and her boyfriend went to see Elf and they said that it was very funny and they really enjoyed it. It doesn't look appealing to me, so I think I will skip it!!

There was NO way that I was going to make myself get up and go shopping this morning. Not when I have to be into work at 3:30 this afternoon and deal with crazed annoying shoppers....ummm... I mean customers I am REALLY hoping that we aren't too busy. We are not the type of store that has sales, so I am hoping that people will not even bother to come to our store today...but then again, as a friend pointed out, maybe it will be extremely busy just because everyone is already out shopping anyway! ***sigh***

For now I am just sitting here DISing, while having a nice yummy plate of leftovers...of course I should be making a dent in the mountain of laundry I need to fold......

Hope that everyone who braved the malls and other shopping areas today was able to get everything they set out to buy!!

Watched the Packers lose while taking a nap with DD. But I was happy that Dallas lost. Sorry Sandy, but I can NOT stand Dallas.

Hope everyone enjoyed their Black Friday. I didn't go anywhere near the malls. I actually didn't even leave the house today. Actually working on reading my fourth book for this week. Might go grab a movie tomorrow if I can con one of my parents into watching Brianna.

Cold weather is moving in right now with the cold front. Should be nice and cold tomorrow!

LOL! I wasn't getting up either after staying up until 3 a.m. As it was, I was up by 7:15 thanks to the puppies waking me!

I survived the mall! Actually, I didn't think it was that bad. I ended up getting a nice shirt in Old Navy, some candles at Yankee Candle, a book and a 2004 pocket calendar at the bookstore, and a leather jacket ON SALE at Burdines! Woooooooooo hooooooooooooooooo! I didn't own a jacket of any kind! LOL! How am I supposed to survive in Virginia in December without one? Perfect reason to shop! Not that leather will keep me warm. LOL!

LOL! I really like the Cowboys. I started out with them as a kid because my mom and my oldest sister were both born in Dallas!

Ugh...let me tell you that when I got up this morning and put the radio on as I was getting ready for work, I groaned at hearing the temp was 84!!!!!

Yes, I need to go with my gut instincts whatever they may be. We'll see. They've ALWAYS been right in the past. And the few times I've chosen to ignore them...I SHOULDN'T HAVE!!! He managed to get himself on my good side last night. He made some comment and basically said it was Army talk. I then asked him...Were you in the Army? He said...YES! Woooooooooooooo hoooooooooooooooooo! He was in for 8 years and is now in the reserves. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! A guy in a UNIFORM! Just what I want. Ahem...excuse me while I try and control myself.

I think it's good you're doing a face to face meeting right away because I've heard some people have this long email thing going and then meet the person and all is not as it seemed. Good luck! Floridaminnie, uniforms don't do much for me either. Well, except for maybe scrubs. When it is cooler at night, my guy wears his scrubs to sleep in. VERY sexy if you ask me.

The malls weren't too bad here. (And I don't remember who asked, but it's called "Black Friday" because that's the day most retail establishments are finally in the black.) Sounds like everyone was busy while I was off fighting for a parking place.

Funny about the scrubs, TigerBear. I worked in a hospital for 8 years, and scrubs do nothing for me! LOL!

It went well today! We met in the mall by Santa, then headed to TGI Friday's for lunch. Wow! Can this guy talk! That's something I like because I love to hear people's stories. He had stories about his family coming over from Ireland, stories about his Army days...LOVE those!! Stories of places he's traveled to...I'm traveling vicariously through him! I believe I like Germany the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just loved listening to him. After lunch we walked around the mall a while and then went to play mini-golf. What fun! I haven't done that in years. He gave me a choice actually...mini-golf or pool. Since I thought I would probably embarrass myself playing pool, I chose mini-golf. Pool is okay, but I'm better with the other. After that he asked me if I wanted to go out again in a couple weeks...OK! Next weekend he has drill so can't make it. Two weeks it is! And he wants to do something with Richard. He actually wanted to today, but I put the kabosh on that. Next time.
