Now I'm getting to the part
Where I have to wrap it up
How do you like the poem that I wrote?
Awwwwwwwwwww...thanks, Barry! You're quite a character. :teeth: I should easily be able to get the true meaning out of that in 1,000 words! Woooooooow! I can actually say that this is the first time a man has written a poem for me!!!!!!!!!!!!! :smooth: :Pinkbounc

Ok, who else is just sitting around at home on a Saturday night?

:wave2:

I was suppose to be at a party right now. I actually drove all the way into Boston and couldn't find a place to park (no big surprize). So, after my little road trip I drove back home and had dinner.

On a good note, I heard that the guy I am :lovestruc with will be coming back to Boston soon. He's been in Europe and New York for the last six months. We have been e-mailing each other the whole time though. I can't wait to see him.

Count me in on that! Today has been a very lazy do nothing type of day. Slept very late (making up for Thursday) then I laid out side sunning for a few hours, want to get in all of the nice sun I can now, before it gets too cold for me to enjoy the sun. Have to ward off the winter pastyness for as long as possible...plus...you never know when you might be baring a little more flesh than normal :smooth: so you should always be prepared! Then I watched the new Legally Blond video. It was cute...then I shhh...took a nap ;). And then came dinner...***sigh*** there was NOTHING to eat that didn't require tons of preparation, like defrosting and lots of cooking time, I mean nothing, no frozen pizza, no sandwich makings...so I saw the box of bisquick and thought...hey I could make pancakes! What a great idea!!! Ummmm no. The first one (and I made it into a Mickey mouse head shape!!! ;) ) was taking forever to cook, so I thought the heat wasn't high enough, and then when I went to flip him he stuck on the pan and pretty much shredded and fell apart. Pancake #1 - trash. The next set (just round ones this time) I think the heat was too high because they completely burned on one side before I even flipped them. Pancakes #2 and #3 - trash. I turned the heat back down, and watched the next batch like hawks. They looked great, lightly golden brown on both sides. I put them on my plate and smothered them in syrup. I cut into it and took a bite only to find my mouth full of batter! They were perfect on the outside, but all three were battery on the inside. Pancakes #4-6 - trash! I gave up after this, and decided I didn't need dinner. Maybe I will go grocery shopping tomorrow?? :teeth:

ROFL! I'm glad I'm not the only one that has a problem making pancakes. I once had two trucks of GORGEOUS firefighters in my driveway! :smooth: (FF326 should get a kick out of this one.) I had the pan heated too much, then sprayed Pam on it. Oooooooops! Major smoke filled the kitchen. I ran to open the door and took the pan outside, but the ADT fire alarm went off. ADT called to see if I needed them to come or not. Well, I have to give them my password in order for them to NOT come to the house! I couldn't remember my password to save my life! So all the gorgeous firefighters showed up. :smooth: I met them in the driveway and convinced them that things were really okay and they didn't have to come in. Whew! My son still teases me about it.

Too funny Barry!! I think I have sworn off pancakes for quite awhile now after tonights cooking fiasco!!

I made waffles from scratch this am. My girls love them! This afternoon I headed northwest and landed at my friends home. We went to see the movie "Luther", about Martin Luther the reformer. (People keep asking if it's about Dr. King...no...) Anyway, I really enjoyed the movie. Stopped for chicken then headed back south.

Well, Barry, looks like we don't have to be cell mates afterall! (Is that a good thing or a bad thing?) :D Hey! There's a poetry contest at poetry.com! You could win $10,000!!! :Pinkbounc I think we should nominate Barry's poem! I'm not joking! I just got a pop up with the link to the contest.... too funny!

Sounds like you had a good day, Vicki! Now, I remember who Martin Luther was because I just had US History last semester and remember studying about him. :teeth: Poetry contest? $10,000? Sure beats the poetry contest they're having at the college!

Oh, my goodness! Even I can cook a pancake:rolleyes: They do have frozen pancakes you can pop in the toaster. Maybe ya'll should stock up.

Just got back from my date. Had a nice dinner and then saw "Love Actually". Great movie. No sparks are flying but he is a really nice guy. He just doesn't open car doors (as you could tell from the thread I posted) and he is always late :(
He's already asked me to a special X-mas show in Dec.
So we'll see what happens.

We've tried those pancakes here...YUCK! I just have to remember to keep the heat low when I make pancakes. Sounds like you had a good date, even with a lack of sparks. You never know...sparks can appear some time down the road! :Pinkbounc A special Christmas show? Sounds promising!!

;) We were completely covered with clouds here in South Florida last night...until after the eclipse was over! :( Around midnight it was somewhat clear and I could see the moon.

Haven't eaten until a firefighter cooks? Well, if you're ever in South Florida, you'll have to cook me breakfast. ;)

LOL! Your french fry story is too funny. I don't feel too badly now having the firefighters show up at my house because of making pancakes. Nice to know a firefighter needed some help too...LOL!

Was in Orlando last night visitng a friend which is a whole other story and we were able to see the whole eclipse from beginning to end with only a couple interuptions from the clouds. Was very very neat!

Lucky you, Suzanne! Wish we could have seen it here. I wonder when the next one will be. Visiting a friend? A male friend by any chance? ;)
