Okay...I've Called the Late Night DISers, Now I'm Calling the Single DISers (Part 2)

Happy Mother's Day...moms of kids and fur babies!!

How's the mystery shopping, Suzanne? I've always wondered about that. Now shopping on a Friday night I can handle. Just not dinner out. :( Too many darned happy families and couples. I'm amazed it hurts so much at this point. But I could do shopping at the mall! :teeth:

Thanks Sandy that is cute! I actually was coming here to wish all of you a wonderful mother's day! I admire you single moms more than I can say. :flower:

It feels wierd that I won't be seeing my mom today. We saw her last weekend at my cousin's wedding. At least my brothers are taking her out to dinner tonight. I bought some gerber daisies for my DBF's mom that I am going to give her from Boo! I love it that she loves her so much. We plan on going to Moody Gardens today to see Sharks 3D and the rainforest pyramid. It should be fun but not as fun as Epcot! :earboy2:

FM, your new job sounds interesting! I really hope you will like it. How are the students chosen for your class? I work until July 11th, but at least things will calm down once the kids are out at the end of the month.

Happy Mothers Day, all!
FM~I was thinking of doing that mystery shopping for extra money, do you enjoy it? Is it something you can do with your DD or do you go alone?
PW~I feel your pain. It used to hurt me so much to go to church and see happy families, men with their children, etc.
My DD and I went to church today, then we were going to go out to eat but the restaurant we wanted to go to was PACKED! So we ended up going to McDonalds, which she probably preferred anyways! We ate outside because it was such a beautiful day! Then we went to a pottery place where you can pick out and paint unfinished pottery. It's become a special thing for us to do together. Then we went to a small get together at my brother's house for my mom. Overall, it was a nice day! Everyone have a great week...I have 2 final exams this week and then school is over for me until fall! :)

*BUMP*
Hiya, Boo Boo! Are you new to the DIS, or mainly a lurker? Just wondering because I see you only have 2 posts and I haven't seen you post on this thread before. It's going to be a busy upcoming couple of weeks for me, so I may not be around much. Any other single DISers care to check in? :)

Busy week here with the hussle and bussle fo the end of the school year. Heading over to WDW for the weekend for a "girls" weekend at Boardwalk. Going to try out DD's new swimvest and teach her to swim.

:wave2:

Welcome, Boo Boo! :)

Thanks, TigerBear. :) Hope you had a good Mother's Day for your fur babies!

Bea...I know the lack of church thing too. Several years ago I had a brick wall up. Now I feel like I have my arms crossed in front of me and turn to the side. Just can't talk to Him any more. :( I've probably been to church four times in the past year and a half. :( Things need to change.

Suzanne...Congrats on the end of the school year coming up! And enjoy the swimming for DD.

Anyone heard from Legs? Miss you, Legs!!! Hope you're having fun on your new adventure! :)

Am I having a new adventure? Or do you mean the move?
My adventure right now is being sick with the flu. 103 fever, body aches, sore throat. No work today.
I managed to make it to the first condo association meeting last night since I had several issues to discuss. Met a really good looking guy there. Think I am older than him though. There is going to be a wine party Sat. night at the pool. I hope I am well enough so I can see him there :)
I've never lived in a condo or townhouse before and although it is different living so close to other people, I love the sense of community that exists here. That was missing in my old neighborhood of single family homes.

Yes, I'm talking about your move and new job, Legs. :) So sorry you have the flu! Hope you're feeling better soon! Sounds like an interesting prospect in the guy at the meeting. :teeth: Hope you're feeling better soon and go for wine at the pool! :Pinkbounc

We're headed back to the air show today. Too many GREAT looking guys there!! :faint: :faint:

I am feeling better today so I am going to the wine party :flower:
Just called the hottie I met at the meeting to RSVP.
Oh, and I just remembered, there was a guy I saw this morning that lives a few doors down. My oh my what a nice muscular body he has! Just too short for me though. And can't forget my cute next to my door neighbor with the Jag convertible. Hmmmm.....I think I may enjoy living here!

DD is with her grandma and aunt at Animal Kingdom today. I hope they come back really late! Of course they have no idea about the wine party.

Have fun at the air show PW. They usually have one here in April but I think they cancelled it for some reason. I haven't run into any military guys here yet.

How was the party, Legs? :teeth: :Pinkbounc Sounds like you have an interesting neighborhood. :)

Back to the air show today. Having a great time there...such a neat feeling. But it's making me cry at night! :( Geez...you forget what real life can be like. Something here definitely needs changing. Push me back to being 18, and I'll enlist!! :)

My mom called at 6pm that they were almost home from Disney but they were going to take my dd to get dinner at a restaurant by where I live. I had just grabbed a burger at the drive thru so I didn't go with them. That gave me time to get ready for the party.
Darn it! I thought they would be back really late.
I got ready then it was time for the party to start and they hadn't brought dd back yet so I went to the pool. An hour later they drop dd off at the pool party. My mom is saying "I thought you were sick????" :rolleyes1
I had a great time! There was wine tasting and appetizers. Got to meet a lot of the neighbors. Everyone is sooo nice. I met a single lady who told me about a singles group here that does a lot of different activities that I'm going to check out. I also met another single mom. She has a dd that is one year older than my dd and her dd now goes to to the school my dd will be going to in the fall. So my dd had someone to play with at the party and feels better about going to a new school. This single mom's ex lives in the same exact town that my ex does....and that is 4 counties away from here! She also lives in the same condo model and unit # that I do (but different buildings). She felt like I did when I first walked into my unit...I knew this was where I wanted to live.
(That other unit did just sell for $20,000 more than I paid and I talked to someone at the party who is going to list theirs for $50,000 more that I paid!)
I was disappointed to find out that hottie has a gf. She was at the party. But he has a dd who is 9 and the gf has a dd who is 8. So my dd will have girls her age to play with here!

PW- Glad you are enjoying the air show. Are you refering to the fact there are a lot of families there?
What's your favorite part of the show? Are the Blue Angels or Thunderbirds there? That was always my favorite part. I had all of their autographs but I don't know what happened to them.

Sounds like you had a great time, Legs! :teeth: And sounds like you have good neighbors. Pretty interesting what the units are selling for...GREAT for you!!! Too funny about your mom's comment. And the ex-husbands living in the same town!  What a coincidence.

The Thunderbirds are here. LOVE seeing them fly! http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001 But I think my favorite is the Golden Knights jumping!!!!! DS didn't believe they had a mark to hit even though the announcer mentioned it. I will have to have him right by it next year. :) Their jumps were great Friday night, and the same for today. Think we missed them yesterday. We couldn't get ouselves in gear early enough.

There were a lot of families there, but I'm specifically getting a feeling from the military families. The young single ones seem to gel together, and the families seem to do that with other families. I haven't had an experience like that personally since I was a kid. My parents were close with others they knew from the American Legion. They spent a lot of time together. Last night I had dinner with a cyber friend. :teeth: I've been talking online with this lady about 9 years now. I finally met her, her husband, and their son last night. Her son was born the day before my DS. She also has a daughter, but she's off on her own now. She figures our boys were 2 years old when we started talking, but I didn't have my first computer until 1996. I was talking about all this with her. Her husband is in the Coast Guard. She agreed...said when her husband has been deployed for something, the others check on her and the kids, invite them over for dinner, etc. They aren't by themselves the entire time. They all pitch in and help each other. I know she (Ann Marie) and her husband have a single friend in the Coast Guard. Well, he was single until a few months back. But they did a lot with him. I imagine they still do but not as often since he's married. So apparently the feeling I had on this was correct. I told her that driving home afterwards, DS fell asleep on the drive and I cried! :( I told her the feeling I got was very heartwarming. But in my personal life I feel like I'm a bird sitting waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out on the small end branches (twigs) of a tree limb bobbing up and down. That's exactly the feeling. Ack! Something better change!!! I know where I am, and I know where I want to be, but nothing to get from point A to point B is happening right. ACK! I definitely want out of the medical field and into either the military as a civilian (which is impossible!!!) or to work somewhere like NASA...which have been cutting jobs! :faint: Years ago I worked for a company that does guidance and navigation systems for military air craft. LOVED that job...LOVED that company!!!! That was just before our move to FL. I don't know. Have to change things...again...or is it more?

It's a weird day...today is my anniversary.

Anything exciting for the weekend?

Happy Anniversary, PW! Are you and your son going to do anything special?

Sorry I haven't been around a lot, guys. So much has been happening here. Tomorrow morning I leave for Kansas City, MO! An organization I'm with in school is going there for a competition. We'll be home Wednesday night. I'm looking forward to it! :D

And, I finally got some results from eharmony a few weeks ago and I'm talking to a guy I met on there. He's really nice, and funny, and we have a lot in common. He grew up near me but now lives about 2 1/2 hours away. He's visiting his parents this weekend and we were going to try and meet today, but that didn't work out. :(

Everyone have a great weekend!

No, nothing special. Sounds like you're having fun!! :)

E-harmony is history. Ha! They sent me this...

There's someone we'd like you to meet...
Dear Sandra and Oscar,

Oscar???????????????????????????????????????????? I don't think so...delete!

Ha, ha, ha, Sandy! He's probably Latino, that's a Latin name. He, he...but I can see where you'd get visions of a green, hairy, big eyebrowed thing that lives in a trash can! I've decided to hold any new matches for right now since I'm talking to this guy. I had been receiving matches but none of them interested me and I wasn't sure if it was due to the fact that I am really interested in the guy I'm talking to now or what. So, to be fair, I just thought I'd hold the others until I know where this is going. Okay, off to pack now! I have to leave at 4 tomorrow morning and I haven't packed one thing yet!

Well, if they are sending a Latino, they're way off base. LOL! I have one guy sitting there over a year now. For the longest time he didn't read the original message I sent. Figured maybe he was deployed. Yes, a military guy! Then in the last couple months some time, he stuck me on hold. Okay...I'm not going anywhere.

Have fun on your trip!
