This is sooooo aggravating. I don't know if I have the lights on the tree plug in correctly. There is one string that will not light!!! There are 2 end plugs on the bottom that just plug into themselves while the rest are all plugged in together near the middle. I'm going to have to drive to Target to look at the display tree.

Have you seen the trees with the lights right on them? That's tempting! Except what do you do when a bulb burns out? Just replace the one bulb I hope. I saw them at Kmart.

That's what I have. A tree with the lights already on it. I have to go look at the Target display tree to see how to plug all the lights together.

we had one of those last year. We just plugged the ends together like we do with the regular x-mas lights

I feel your pain. My tree is pre-lit and it is in 3 pieces. The first year I was able to get it together correctly. Since that time I have had to resort to putting an extension cord with multiple outlets literally in my tree. There are just way to many strings to plug together and nothing to tell me what needs to go where.

((((hug))) Sandy - I'm not in the mood either. I can't even decide if I am going to put up my tree. And I love my tree! Everything besides a few dog ornaments are Disney. Maybe we need some to get us in the spirit.

Our tree with the lights is a small tree....this year we got a seven foot fresh tree...it was interesting time with me getting the lights to the top....I got a nice upper arm workout.

I went back to Target at 7:30 tonight. Looked at the display tree. I had the light strings attached the same way as the display. So I asked for another tree after I told the sales girl what was wrong with my tree. I told her I wanted to see if I had everything attached right instead of just taking it down and returning it. She said "so you're going to have 2 trees?????" Can we say ditsy? And she wasn't even blond. I just put it up and everything works. Yipee! Now I have to take the other one down and pack it up to return it.

This tree is in 3 pieces and has 500 lights.

Leg - Sorry to hear about your brother having to go back to Iraq. It is such a nerve racking situation! I am glad that you will be able to spend Christmas with him. My tree is pre-lit too...500 lights....and it was not too hard to find the plug in's with the help of my daughter! That is the one problem with those trees is figuring out the lights. Great news about getting a tree that works even though it seems to have been a lot of trouble. I would have died if that would have happened to me after all of the pain in the you-know-what it was to get it here!!!!

Sorrry TB and PW about not being in the Christmas spirit. I was almost there with you! I wasn't planning to put up the tree and decorations either since my DD won't be here. But since DBF is coming home I wanted to make this Christmas special and my DD likes to help decorate and even though she won't be here for Christmas the time we have until she leaves we will celebrate early. I'm having a really hard time with the fact that she will be gone...the first Christmas that I have not spent with her.

FLM - I decided to put our tree in the corner near the stairs so that I could use the stairs to reach the top of the tree...only problem was trying to lean around the front at the top.

Darn! I missed Desperate Housewives tonight! Forgot it was on as we are watching the Bronco/Oakland game. The game is in Denver and it is snowy and cold... 15 degrees the last I heard....gave my tickets away...NO WAY was I going to sit out in that mess! I am a fair weather fan...literally!

If I could figure out how to add pictures here...I'd post a picture of the tree. I had a picture once on here of my DBF and myself witht he captain of the Wonder but it disappeared and I haven't had time to figure it out again.

Finally got my tree in my signature but I either had it too big or this size. I don't know how to make it larger but not too large. Oh well, you all can get the idea.

Your tree looks gorgeous, Vicki! If you post your larger picture on the Technical Board, someone there will resize it for you. They just did this with the one in my siggie recently.

Glad you got a tree that works better for you, Legs. My sister? I'm not counting on it. She seems to be attached to her significant other's family. Don't think I like this guy. And I'm still ticked at her from last Christmas. She sent me a gift but not DS. DS asked why he didn't get anything. Not fun trying to come up with something to tell him. Think I'll be sending my nephew something this year and that's it. Sorry...it still bugs me! And she never did answer my e-mail asking her where my nephew was staying while she was prancing off to SO's family in PA for Thanksgiving. No warm fuzzies here!!

Enjoy the time you do have with your daughter, Vicki. I'm sure it will be tough with her gone.

Can you believe it? I didn't hear anything today about the job. This is aggravating!

DD was sick today with a 102.5 fever. At least I got my tree up and decorated.

Oh, my sister is nothing new. It doesn't really surprise me. Actually, she sent me a gift card last year. DS opened the envelope, saw one, read her card, and asked where his was. Good thing it was a gift card! I took him to the store and let him get what he wanted.

Have an appointment at a different agency tomorrow. I'm supposed to complete their online application before hand. Ack! I get a message that they have an undetected bug and it quits. It does it every time at the same point. I spoke with someone on the phone. She said try it and if it doesn't work, she'll print the form and have me write in that section.

Found a whopping three jobs in yesterday's paper. One was only part time, another wants dictation. Dictation? Shudder! That was a nightmare for me in school. I don't do dictation! Dictaphone and transcription, yes. So can that one. The third was a state job, but the ad said there are NO BENEFITS! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! What is with this sickening market?

Sorry to hear about the continued job struggle. We are in desperate need of account managers at my company. Have any travel experience? Want to relocate? Good luck with your interview tomorrow! Keeping fingers crossed. No benefits...only those who have a spouse with benefits need apply I guess. That is crazy!

Legs- I can't believe you didn't hear about your job today! How frustrating after waiting all weekend. Hope your DD is feeling better soon. My DD was sick over the weekend but was well enough to go to school today.
