FLM- Hope they figure out what this is! Could it possibly just be migraines? Hugs and prayers!
TB- Got the package today. Thanks! It's very cute. It says to use distilled water so I need to buy some and then I'll test the waterfall.
I took my car to the Toyota dealer I bought it from and started giving them my sob story. In the middle of it, the customer relations director called the service manager. The service manager said he didn't think it was the alternator. He said he's never seen a bad alternator in a Toyota this new. So they tested the charging system. He said if it turned out the alternator was bad, they would cover it under warranty since I was just 1,000 miles over. They had no problem doing that. Well, their test showed the alternator had good voltage under load so it was good! He showed me the test results and I got a copy of everything. He said Toyota used to have the testing system my mechanic used but they got a better one. He said my mechanic could have put so much test load on it that it caused a low voltage reading and falsely show that I need a new alternator. He gave me a number to call to get the money reimbursed that I spent on a new battery since they would say the battery was still under warranty.
Who to believe? It is a possibility that my repair shop could have intentionally deceived me just to make money. Because of that I don't think I will go back to them.
All I can do is say a prayer that Toyota was right. Their customer service is awesome!
