Okay...I've Called the Late Night DISers, Now I'm Calling the Single DISers (Part 2)

FLM- Hope they figure out what this is! Could it possibly just be migraines? Hugs and prayers!

TB- Got the package today. Thanks! It's very cute. It says to use distilled water so I need to buy some and then I'll test the waterfall.

I took my car to the Toyota dealer I bought it from and started giving them my sob story. In the middle of it, the customer relations director called the service manager. The service manager said he didn't think it was the alternator. He said he's never seen a bad alternator in a Toyota this new. So they tested the charging system. He said if it turned out the alternator was bad, they would cover it under warranty since I was just 1,000 miles over. They had no problem doing that. Well, their test showed the alternator had good voltage under load so it was good! He showed me the test results and I got a copy of everything. He said Toyota used to have the testing system my mechanic used but they got a better one. He said my mechanic could have put so much test load on it that it caused a low voltage reading and falsely show that I need a new alternator. He gave me a number to call to get the money reimbursed that I spent on a new battery since they would say the battery was still under warranty.
Who to believe? It is a possibility that my repair shop could have intentionally deceived me just to make money. Because of that I don't think I will go back to them.
All I can do is say a prayer that Toyota was right. Their customer service is awesome!

That stinks when you don't know who to believe regarding a car. More than once I've wondered if someone was pulling something. I had a Toyota years ago and was very happy with it. You're right...the Service Dept. was GREAT!! I would probably tend to believe the dealer more than an outsider. I've had dealers work with me in the past, and if I had a question, they're more than eager to show me how they arrived at something. When I go somewhere else, I don't know if I'm getting a snow job or what. I have a Nissan right now, and I've been happy with the dealerships. Too funny...when I picked up my van from them last time, I probably mumbled something under my breath about the radio stations being changed. The guy explained the entire thing to me of how they cut the power which causes things to have to be reset. LOLOL! Okay, I wasn't ticked after that. :)

I can't believe this. Now my washing machine isn't working right! It only partially filled with water. I couldn't get it to fill all the way up.

Ugh, Legs! And I'm afraid it might be spreading! I was wiping the floor in front of the dishwasher and now see a stain right in front of it on the floor. I seriously hope the dw isn't leaking. I would rather it have been the puppy and I missed a spot!

Good luck with the washer!

When I had a GEO Metro it would always stall on me when I was driving. I would take it to the dealership b/c it was a brand new car. They actually looked at me square in my face and said "It's all in your head". Oh yeah my car stops and it's all in my head. My dad would come in and "yell" at the manager in his military uniform. I would get an apology. My car would keep stalling and they would keep doing the tap dance that it was all in my head. Got rid of that car real fast. It was a lemon if I ever had one, but they kept getting around the lemon laws. My mechanic I've had forever now and he knows my whole family on a first name basis. He has too much business to worry about getting "extra" money out of us.

I also had a prob with Sears once saying I needed new tires after I had an allignment with them. I went somewhere else and they told me I also needed an allignment. I had one at Sears the week before. The manager went through the whole allignment process with me and how everything is done and how Sears probably cheated. I went back to Sears and demanded that they redo my allignment and I wanted to be out there to watch to make sure they did it properly. They didn't want me out there b/c it was dangerous. I ended out there and they did it properly the second time. Haven't been back there.

Leggs that's one of the things the neorologist said, but since I don't have a family history of migranes and there is no correlation between the headaches and the numbness I'm experiencing he thinks that it's highly unlikely. Have all three tests being done on the 18th of this month. They were so cooperative where I'm going b/c one of the techs is going to stay late so I don't have to take time off from work. Apparently I've become a good customer. I keep coming back for more.

Suzanne-
Darn, was hoping it might be something simple like migraines. Where are you having the numbness? Prayers that they figure what this is.
Glad you have a good mechanic. That is worth a lot!

PW- hope it was the puppy and not the dishwasher!

My neighbor, who had hurricane roof damage, also had water leak in her house (thank goodness I haven't had that!). She said she called 17 general contractors and she could only get an appt with one of them! And then the guy didn't show up! Yikes! I'm going to research and call some roofers today. Wish me luck!

Hold out hope for migraines, Suzanne. My nephew was diagnosed with them. No one in our family has ever had them, as far as they know, no one in ex-brother-in-law's family has had them either! Numbness...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Is it intermitent or there all the time? Just curious. Could be a number of things...pinched nerve or disc problem just two. Maybe good they are doing an MRI of your spine for that. Hope you're feeling better!!

Legs...Thanks! I'm hoping it's the pup also. I'll be keeping an eye on the area. Guess I'll be running the dishwasher this weekend also.

Seventeen contractors? :faint: And only one and he didn't show! :faint: GOOD LUCK!!

I'm crossing fingers here!! I may have a temp job for next week. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc I can see I'll be brushing up on Excel this weekend!!

Good luck with the job PW! I've heard that jobs like that could lead to a perm. position.

I must have called 15 roofers today. The majority aren't taking any new customers or their answering machines are full. There were a couple I was able to leave a message and one I had to send a fax to. There is one roofer doing a house in my neighborhood. They are in Broward county. But I got right through to them (a real person!) and they will give me an estimate on Tues. or Wed. I looked them up on BBB and they have no complaints and have been in business a while. I wanted to get more than one estimate but it doesn't look like that will happen. Hopefully this guy won't be higher that my insurance money.

I decided to replace the light fixture in my closet myself. The man who works in the electrical dept at Home Depot convinced me it was so simple I could do it myself. I figure as long as I shut the power off and match the correct wires, I could do it! I got the old fixture off ok. But I had a hard time connecting the wires because there is not another person here who is tall enough to hold the fixture base near the ceiling. And it must be about 10 lbs. heavy. So, I balanced the base of the fixture on the top of my head while I connected the wires and put those caps on:idea: It was very comical:laughing: But now I can't secure the light fixture to the ceiling. The screws I have are too big. I am not doing this myself again!

lol...I can just see you doing the light on head routine legs!

Have some great news. Have a pre-trial date set for Nov. 30th. I have some type of date. His attorney isn't very happy b/c they don't want to go to court, but we need to go to court since they don't want to talk and don't want to do anything. Have to have a mediation date before then. Should know Monday when that will be. I was dancing today.

That's great Suzanne! I'm sure you needed great news at this time in your life!

Went to Lowe's to get smaller screws. The guy that worked there was as beat as I was. I told him about balancing the light on my head while I connected the wires. I'm sure he thought I was nuts:rolleyes: He said you take a hanger and make an S shaped hook. One end hangs in ceiling light box, the other end you hang the fixture on so you can connect the wires and caps.
He said he can change a light in 10 min. Meanwhile, it has taken me hours. So, I invited him over:D

J/K!

So the screws fit and I attached the light to the ceiling, flipped the breaker and light switch on and...........it worked! Thank God!
I am so tired and sore.
It is so great. The light comes on right away. I flipped it on and off several times. Like I'd never seen a light do that before. My old closet light took about 30 sec. to come on. It was fluorescent and the ballast was old.

Believe me when I tell you there was no attraction there at all!

Thanks for the good luck wishes, Legs. You never know. Might turn into something down the road. In the past I've worked temped jobs and was then hired. We'll see what's up here. I'm all set to go on Monday morning! :)

LOLOLOL! You must have looked quite comical with that light on your head. But you got it done!!! Woooooooo hooooooooo! :Pinkbounc Way to go!

Congrats on a date of some kind, Suzanne! Hope all goes well with that.

I sure do! Start at 8:30 Monday morning. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc I'm looking forward to it. :)

Congrats PW! Keep my fingers crossed that it'll turn into something more then a temp position for you!

LOL Legs!! I'm impressed you got it to work. Electrical things scare me.

Congrats Sandy!! Do they have any idea how long a position it will be? I know some temp job can last months.

Good thoughts coming your way FM - for both the medical follow-up and the court date.

I'm finally done powerwashing - it problably only took me 10 hours or so. At least it is finally done.

Thanks, TigerBear! :) I'm told it's one week. *sigh* Crossing my fingers there will be something else down the road!! Washing some new clothes so I can actually wear them without that horrible "new" smell. Didn't realize one skirt was silk. I usually stay away from that. I can see why...hand wash in cold water and hang dry. But I think I like that better than the wash in delicate cycle tops that then have to "dry flat." Dry flat? I've NEVER dried anything flat. Do I lay it down on a towel or something? I have 2 tops and a sweater that say dry flat. You would think I would learn to read my tags before I even try something on.

On to Excel. This typing I'll be doing is in Excel. No formulas. Yea!

Done power washing, TB? GREAT! I bet things look sooooooooooo much better now. :)
