Okay...I've Called the Late Night DISers, Now I'm Calling the Single DISers (Part 2)

EG has offered me his personal email address to email him at instead of through eHarmony. EHarmony warns against revealing personal info like email addresses. I'm not sure why. What could he find out with my email address?

Do you have your complete name listed in your email profile? If so, it will show him your first and last name when you return his email (on the From line). Other than that, I can't think of anything.

Interesting article btw.

Something I just thought of: I knew the last names of all of the men I met from match. It at least allowed me to verify that they worked for the company they told me they did. Just be careful. If a person is internet savey (?) and you have a listed phone number, I believe they can access your address with your full name.

My db's best friend is now dating a woman he met on match. I can't wait to meet her! The article Legs posted said 2 in 5 singles used an internet dating site within the last year. That is A LOT of people!!

MDP, hang in there. :( Chris sounds like a nice guy! :D

GOOD EVENING ALL
just checking in on all the good news. none her just working and working with rain rain rain and YES RAIN.

another day at work.
sounds like things are getting better????????????????

well must go cook my supper.

have a great day all

LOLOL! You did a great job, Legs!! Sometimes I feel like that. :)

Sorry about Molly's costumes! Thank goodness the buck isn't being passed on to the parents.

Want to go to B&N with me on a week day? I got a kick out of your thinking it should be as quiet as a library. Whenever I go in that store, I find I whisper to Richard. Then I think...this isn't the library! :teeth: I'm more of a whisperer any way. Richard starts day care tomorrow, so I just may spend part of the day there with a good book and a latte in one of those comfy chairs. :)

PW, I know how not fun job hunting can be. But I do love book stores! I just went to B&N yesterday to buy Summer Sisters after reading about it on Snoopy's beach book thread. I'm actually not surprised about government jobs taking so long. In the school district I work for it sometimes takes months for new people to get paid.

Legs, that sucks about the ebay seller. I wonder if she might refund you the money? Do they sell any new PC stuff on ebay? I really need to buy a chopper. I bought my mom one when I went to a party once, and then bought myself an imitation one that has since landed in the trash.
It takes that long for them to get paid? :earseek: Wow!

Summer Sisters...I didn't come across that one. I think we were at B&N 3 or 4 times this week. And today we were at Books-A-Million. :teeth: I think we better start going to the library instead...well, more often. ;)

PC chopper? I have one, never been used. However, since I moved, I have NO clue where it is at the present time.

Ok this week can end now, this week has been terrible except the fact that Chris and I seem to get closer everyday.

MDP - sounds like a rough day/week. I can sympathize ... I think I worked about 45 hours this week at a temp job. The money will be nice, but it's been a while since I've had to put in a 40 hour week. (my typical summer job usually gets me between 12-20 hours a week, and my school-year job that I had was about 20 hours a week)

It got cooler here today ... that was nice, after getting up into the 90's earlier this week ... espicially since I was working outside all week. Problem is that it was raining, and that made it much more difficult to get our job done. (it's a complete waste of time to try to paint and caulk in rainy weather, so that kept getting postponed, and now someone else will have to do a rush job once it dries out)

MDP...Wow! That was a pretty lousy week! What happened? The boss change the hours, etc. and turned into chicken little and took off on vacation to avoid the *mud* before it hit the fan? But Chris' message sounds adorable! :teeth:

Can you have several e-mail addresses with your ISP? I know with AOL I have 7. When we get past the web site point, I always give them one of the addresses that I can easily delete. They don't get my main e-mail address.

Otherwise, you can get an e-mail address somewhere else...hotmail, MSN, yahoo, etc.

How soon do you get to personal email addresses? I don't know if I can have more than one address. My email has my whole first name and just the first letter of my last name. He knows from eHarmony what city I live in. I am in the phone book as whole last name and first initial but now my number has changed and is unlisted:crazy:

I just emailed both of them last night. This morning they both replied within 4 minutes of each other:earseek:. They're neck in neck :teeth:

MDP- Hope things get better:hug:
At least you have a wonderful guy by your side to help you through it. Right Chris? :teeth:

Hmmm.....HG with the 1/2 inch head doesn't think he's very photogenic:scared: I let him know I would be vacationing on Sanibel. That is close by him. I'll wait to see if he brings up the possibility of us getting together when I'm over there.

EG again mentioned his email address again PLUS gave me his cell number:scared: What do I do with this guy?

LOLOL! Isn't it weird when they give their cell number? Whatever happened to the guy calling? Jim did the same thing with me. Ha!

Yes, you can get an e-mail address right away. If they already have your regular e-mail address, I don't think I'd worry about it. But anyone in the future I'd probably give a hotmail or other type to. Geez...poor Jim. I started out giving him a hotmail address. Had a problem sending something to him one night. Then I sighed up at hamptonroads.com. Have one there also. There's tons of places I'm sure. ;)

Who's Jim???

I guess offering their number is better than begging for mine:laughing:

I did notice that my last name is revealed when I send emails from my home email so I opened an email acct at Yahoo. You can go in to your Yahoo acct after you open it and delete your last name so it is not shown in sent emails. It was very tough to come up with a user name that wasn't taken by someone else!!

So I replied back to EG through eHarmony and told him he could email me at my Yahoo address. I am just so leary of giving out personal info like phone numbers and email addresses because of a stalking case I was involved with. I would prefer to meet in person and if I like the person, then would feel more comfortable revealing personal info.

Can you find out any info from a person's cell #?

I just got another match one county south of me. Another pilot. His photo showed him in his pilot uniform. He said is 52 but he looks 62 :( But I really liked his written profile.

Did you ever call Jim? How soon did you give your cell #?

LOL! Did I skip that? Jim is a guy I had lunch with a few weeks ago. Haven't seen him since then yet, but we e-mail all the time and call every now and then. Still waiting to get us to the beach with him. :) His dad is seriously ill and he's been helping his mom a lot. (Someone told me that means he's a nurturing type.) :) But right now he's in New York. He'll be back tomorrow. He seems like a very nice guy.

  I guess you're right about the number, Legs! :)

Wow! You taught me something! My hotmail account does show my last name. I'll have to see if I can delete that.

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooo...sorry the guy looks 10 years older than he really is! Maybe it's just a bad pic of him. I'd give him a chance. Sometimes the personality makes them very attractive! :teeth:

I don't know if you can find anything out about someone from their cell. The last I knew, no place keeps track of cell phone numbers.

Oh! Darling heart throb and I are on for lunch on Monday! Wooooooooo hooooooo!! I hope things go as planned without anything messing it up. :faint: :faint: :lovestruc :lovestruc
