Okay...I've Called the Late Night DISers, Now I'm Calling the Single DISers (Part 2)

Wow, Genetics! Now that's interesting!!! :)

Excel...bah humbug! There's so much to it! I have a tutorial disk. There's 83 "pages" on formulas. It's fine walking through it all, but you really need to practice this stuff, not just try it once and that's it. I do have my Office XP book from class before I moved. I'll be using that the next few days. Thanks for asking, TB!! Glad you had a good time and met some nice people. :)

Hope that all have been doing well... and sorry to hear about your situation, legs.... :( Hope that all might turn out well in the end, but know a scary, difficult time.

Sorry about the dog-missing, Ms. TB! Still miss my "Dennis"... and he died the same day that ELVIS did... swear...! :o

PW, just spent about 9 hours in a row in Excel... my world at work... haha! If any any ?'s, feel free to shout!

SSB - furbabies definitely claim a permanent spot in our hearts.

It's only Tuesday and I am already looking forward to the weekend.

TB...No weekends yet, please!!!

SSB...Thank you! :) Nine hours is a bit much. Ha ha! I got my book out. It's much better than the disk. I have a job interview at 8:30 tomorrow morning in Norfolk. Guess I'll be leaving here at 7 a.m. when DS gets on the bus. Traffic is unbelievable. But it's definitely worth it for this job!!! :Pinkbounc Crossing fingers and saying prayers on this one. I have a friend recommending me for this one. Hope it helps. Geez! It's tough out there.

Had a call from the city police department yesterday about a job I applied for. Well, it's quite a bit different from their original ad. This job would drive me crazy doing the same thing 40 hours a week. I'm used to 10 different things going on at once. And the pay. Ugh! What pay? I made more 11 years ago in FL! :faint: Sorry, can't even consider that one.

Legs...I hope things are improving and your happier!!!!!

Suzanne and Vicki...Hope you're both doing well!! :)

Good luck, PW!!! :) We are all pulling for you to find the right one for you... and sorry for the way early morning. Hoping that you are not still up at Midnight... haha!

TB.... so VERY true.... my little "Dennis".... my first pet ever.... and I LOVED him so very much. Was kind of funny as I remember thinking how odd everyone was so upset about Elvis passing away... as my heart was also crushed by my dog meeting a violent death (the local Methodist minister ran over him... and was known for speeding in my small town).

BTW.... CONGRATS on 3,000 posts!

I'm close!! It's 11:45 now! :teeth: And thanks!! I'll be counting everyone pulling at 8:30. :)

I'm so sorry about your pup, SSB. I remember how difficult it was when my childhood dog got hit by a car. He was 16 years old and could barely see. :( My dad cried more than anyone! It was tough. But I remember exactly where I was when Elvis died...I was in class at hairdressing school. A teacher came flying down the stairs and said she just heard it on the radio. Now whenever I think of that, I'll think of your pup also.

Good luck Sandy today. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you. Let us know how it goes.

Nothing much else going on here. Lost my voice last week which made teaching very interesting. I bribed a couple of students one day to help me teach. Slowly getting it back this week and back into the swing of things. Wish the weather would make up it's mind if it's going to be cold or nice. Shouldn't be complaining with all the snow they are getting up north though!

Legs, hopefully your job will be getting better real soon here for you!

Sandy - how did the interview go this morning? I thought of you when I woke up. :)

SSB - I don't actually remember Elvis's death, but I can imagine how you might have felt given that your grief was so much more personal. Your poor furbaby. :(

FM - hope your voice comes back soon!

Legs - check in with us when you get a chance.

I hope your voice is back to normal soon, too, Suzanne! That's tough when you have a job with a lot of speaking.

Thanks for all the good wishes, everyone! It went pretty well this morning. For some unknown reason, there were two occasions where I drew a blank and actually had to think of an answer to them. Other than that, it went well. Now to wait it out. They have three others to interview. Crossing all fingers, toes, eyes, legs. Anything else? LOL! It was NOT fun getting up at 4:45. :earseek: I was so happy the school bus was here at 7:06. Sometimes he's later. And it was almost 8 when I got there. Extra heavy traffic today for some unknown reason. But it all worked out. Yea! Thanks for asking!

We're all pulling for you, Ms. Sandy!!! Lots of good luck and well wishes heading your way....

This just made me LAUGH! :rotfl: All body parts are crossed that can be crossed - including my eyes!

Thank you, Tiger Bear!

I finally finished writing all 5 thank-you notes. Three bosses I met with, one for the Exec. Secretary who was absolutely great getting them all scheduled for one time and sent me great directions...didn't get lost at all! :) And the fifth to the lady I met with last week for testing. Whew! Keeping everything crossed!!!!!!!! :)

Same here... sorry so quiet, but busy weekend with baseball tryouts, and a few dramas thrown in... :)

Hope that all are well, and having a great weekend!!!

:wave2:

Whew! Time for a breather. The thread on Air Force or Army had me going. Ha! I'll stay here and relax a while. :)

Not much this weekend. Just running around. Stopped at Starbucks with DS. For the first time we sat at a table and chatted. Nice! :) We were talking about standardized testing coming up at school. I told him he needs to get to bed early the night before and have a good breakfast that morning. He said...What kind of breakfast? Not pancakes! LOL! Then he proceeded to repeat the story of how I made pancakes one morning when we were in FL and set off the fire alarm. ADT called me, I couldn't remember the code to give them. Two trucks of gorgeous guys showed up! I met them in the driveway and told them it was okay, there wasn't a fire, they really didn't need to come in. (The house was less than spotless!) I finally convinced the guy, and they left. Actually what happened was that I heated the pan way too quickly. When I sprayed it with non-stick stuff, I got SMOKE! The entire kitchen was filled with it, and it set off the alarm by DS's bedroom! :faint:  Oops! I don't think I've made pancakes from scratch since then.

So then DS brought up the burglar alarm going off in the middle of the night because he was sleepwalking and set it off. I heard it and jumped out of a dead sleep only to trip over the dog (retriever) and landed on the tile floor. Ouch! Then got my foot caught on the leg of a dining room chair and got the same knee meeting the floor. (I'm just so graceful! Ha!) Then standing at the door at 3 a.m. trying to get the code to come to mind. Ha! Ah, yes...the unexpected fun. :) DS remembered I had quite a bruise on my knee from that. :) Multiply that story by two because I did it again at another time. Missed the chair, but did trip over the dog. LOLOLOL!

Okay...BP should be back to normal now since I'm laughing. :teeth:

Sandy that is too funny! "No mom not pancakes again". Standardized testing is already stressful enough, LOL! :rotfl:

Talk about tripping, I fell TWICE this week and typically am not a clumsy person. At least a dog in the dark is a good excuse. What I have to blame is a wet tile floor and getting the dogs in the car - although I think the real culprit was that I was rushing both times. One knee is totally scraped up and the other one is bruised. I'm going indoor rock climbing on Wednesday so I hope I am healed by then. Boy has it made me feel old! :earboy2:

I have a date on Thursday night with a guy in my outdoors group. :) I am so excited! Its actually fun to meet a man in real life. Not that I think there is anything wrong with internet dating. :flower: I actually have some cute matches right now on eharmony...

Legs & CM, I'm thinking about both of you....

I hope everyone enjoys their Sunday!

Sorry for the falls, Deb! Tile floors are definitely rough on the knees. Max wasn't even laying down. He was standing right in front of my bedroom door...across. I tried pushing past him but fell over him instead. Ha! Ouch! I guess the horrible noise of the alarm scared him, too, and he wasn't budging.

Congrats on the date and have a GREAT time! I'm getting back to the...I give up...stage again. Geez.

Glad you have a few interesting ones at eharmony. I was just there this morning, had a new match. Ha! I was thinking that when this round expires, I'm out of it. Closed this one right away...okay, I'm shallow on some things myself I guess. Height is one of them. I cannot date someone shorter than me! Already was married to one the same height. Next time, a taller one would be nice. :cloud9: So I looked at the history. I have 29 of them closed out. Ha! Of course, that's going waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back. I have 4 sitting in the pot. Two have me on hold. Ha again! The other two have been sitting there forever. One is military, maybe deployed for all I know. The other is an instructor for the military. Could he be deployed? I don't know, so I let those two sit. The police officer is one that has me on hold. Not sure who the other is. Hmmmmmmmm...maybe time to close him out. He hasn't made enough of an impression.

How's it going, Legs?

Hope you have your voice back 100%, Suzanne.

Vicki...Hope you surface soon.

SSB... :wave2:

The poor dog was probably just as disoriented as you!

Can you tell how tall someone is from their profile? I guess I am lucky that way. At 5'2" 99.9% of men are taller than me. :) OK, you made me go count my matches. I currently have 3 new matches, 4 ongoing matches, and 79 closed matches. I love living in a big cities. You know when they say they screen out 97.9 percent (or whatever it is) of people from the start they are talking about geography? LOL!

I got carded today buying a bottle of wine. Aww, the little things that can make you feel so happy! :)

LOL! Reading your stuff just made me feel old, Deb! Then again, the entire day has been a tough one. You have 79 closed. Holy cow!!!

Yes, height is one of the few things we are given about them. I cannot go out with a guy that's 5'7". However, 6"1" and taller would be great!! :) Aha!! So it's geographic info that gets screened out. LOLOL! Could be! Makes sense. ;)

You were carded. Geez...yesterday some guy in a store wanted to pass by and said...excuse me, MAM. Mam?? I wanted to smack him!!

GUYS!!!! Don't ever call a female "MAM!!!!!"

I'm sorry! I didn't mean to make you feel old...not even sure how I did? :guilty: The disoriented comment was because of the buglar alarm going off - no reference to senility! LOL! Please don't kill me...you are just making me laugh!! Besides age is just a number...even if you are 34 and still want to be a mom!! :teeth:

Ah - you are right about them showing height. I am actually proud of myself for not paying attention to it! I have always been attracted to taller men...but am so trying to be open this go around. Which for height is MUCH easier for me because I am so short myself. ;)

I just reached open communication with a guy this afternoon and he is asking me what I am doing tonight? Not meeting him that is for sure! He seems like a nice guy so I'll let this one slide. I am actually giving Garden State another go this evening, thanks to the encourage of SSB and my ex-bf.

:grouphug: Sandy!!
