Hey everyone! Yesterday I returned home from the world and felt so sad. My mom and I booked a room for December so I am feeling better! This will be long, but if you wanna read, read. No mean comments, please! I'm not an adult, yet! Now I just wanna introduce myself and tell you my story:

(PS, doing it here so more people read it!)

Name: Charlene
Age: 13
Location: FL

My parents and I are FL ressies and Passholders.

I have been visiting Disney since I was 2. As a toddler, it felt like I was spending years at WDW, when it was only, like, 5 nights! :lmao:

When I was 5, the addiction started. The saying is true: Disney World is a drug! We went countless times, as the Kindergarten teacher said, "WDW can be an educational place, more learning and much more fun than a classroom." I probably took maybe 5 trips that year, all being just little night/day trips.

Being at WDW was getting better and better as my life at school got worse. I have always been an outsider, but life was getting a bit unfair. The teacher in 2nd grade never passed me. My work was correct, and while all the other dumbbell kids were "flying colors" I was flunking!

I switched schools for a new experience. Then I was away from WDW for about 2 1/2 years. Sooo hard! Now I know what it feels like to be a Jersey resident!

And the summer of 08 finally came. I believe we took three trips that summer. Throughout the year, we continued with day trips, also. :)

Then something started to kick in. The teacher for one of my favorite subjects made me hate, fear and downright dread her classes. She was VERY emotionally and sometimes, but rarely psychically, and sexually abusive to us. We told our parents, and she was suspended, but has returned.

That year, friends turned against me. One stood out. A girl who used to be innocent told me about these "things" I thought a tween should not know about. She went goth, and scared me forever.

Because I had a bit of depression, my family decided WDW was the answer. I was able to let go and have fun. I was no longer the so-called disgraceful embarrassment. I was myself, Charlene, the 11 year old Disney addict. So once again, we resumed our trips. And really, I can say Disney helped me and actually saved me. My friends, the cast members, they were always there for me. I was Disney family.

Fast forward to today. I still deal with that malicious teacher, but she has calmed down and stopped bothering me. I no longer let her do that to me. I just finished an amazing trip to the Contemporary. I still cry thinking about the beautiful, big, big room, but am happy I got to go. Now as a teen living in hard times, I find it amazing we can all go to such a great place! I am still in disbelief, getting chills down my spine and tears of joy in my eyes when I see a monorail, the castle or Spaceship Earth for the first time.

That's my story! Here are some quick facts too!

My Dream: Well, I get blank stares when I tell people my dream.
"I wanna publish my teen novel and move to Golden Oak, the new Disney Community right behind the Contemporary resort!"

Favorite Character: I love the Classics, but Stitch and Lilo are my cousins!

Favorite WDW resort: Too hard to chose, but I LOVE the deluxes the best!

Favorite Park: MK or Epcot.

Favorite Rides: Monorail, Peoplemover, Soarin' and The Elevator to California Grill!! :)

Memories:

Well, the least fave is when we stayed for 16 nights. I never get tired of WDW, but I got stomach flu that week! EWW! I kept vomiting my Tylenol, so I didn't get better with meds, but naturally!

I have many more memories, which I will share later!

I love Vinylmations! I have necklaces and figures and everything1 Best stuff ever!

I'm not your normal kid at Disney. I like the parks along with hotels, restaurants and shopping!

My Favorite Hotel Resaturant: California Grill, Whispering Canyon, The Wave, Citricos, GF Cafe, Contempo Cafe, Artist Point.....

Fave Park eats: Liberty Tree Tavern with runners up of Chefs De France and 50's Prime Cafe

Fave Foreign Soda: BEVERLY! just kidding, I LOVE Fanta Kolita

Again: Much more to tell, but I will talk later!

My Reactions to Stuff:

Packing to go to WDW: Running around my bedroom with glee
In the car to WDW: My legs are shaking in excitement
Driving under the arch: I call "I'm HOME!!!"
Being there: Indescribable
Eating there: Pigging out!
Monorail: WEEEEEE!

Leaving: Crying.

I like my hometown a bit, but its more like a hick-town. I got all these unclassy ppl around me! In Orlando, I blend in. I'm smart, kinda classy, care about my appearance and LOVE WALT DISNEY WORLD!! I swear I WILL live there one day, really!

Thank you, Walt Disney. I love you.

First of all, welcome to the Dis Charlene! I'm sure you're going to love it because we are all totally Disney crazy here! And I've got to say, I was really touched by your story - I totally saw myself in it. I was always an outsider through elementary and middle school too and dealt with stuff, and I found my savior through theatre, just like Disney was for you.

I'm glad you found us here so we can all be Disney-obsessed together! :goodvibes
