What's your favorite candy this time of year - and do you raid your own "pass out supply" as well as your children's TOT bags when they come home? ;)

Whatever my DD purchases to pass out, she has to hide because her FIL comes over every morning and if he finds it, there won't be anything left for Halloween.. (He's mainly after all the chocolate stuff - not fussy about what kind..)

When DGD comes home from TOT with her parents, they go through and check everything - take out what she likes and hides it - and then the rest is left out for FIL to find..

I'm not a big fan of candy, but "if" I had to buy any to pass out (which I don't), I think I would probably eat quite a few of the mini 3 Mousketeer Bars before Halloween..;)

My favorite candy is...any Fun Size candy bar :lmao:.

I don't buy candy until the day before or day of Halloween b/c I would snack on it. We are in a smaller subdivision, and I know most of the kids, so I do buy the good candy bars (Fun size), and give out candy til I run out. If I have any left (rarely)...I might eat some.

I'm bad enough eating the candy out of my 2 yr old's bucket...

I buy some candy I like ;) and some I don't, and give out the stuff I don't like first!

We all go trick or treating together so we don't pass out candy. So I can't raid our own supply. I do raid my dad's, who lives up the street from us. And he always buys a bag of each one our favorites so we can each grab a handful when we stop there.

I also raid my kids' trick or treat bags. They all know our favorites and each others. If they don't see something they like for themselves, they try to pick something else that they know one of us really likes. That really comes in handy for my middle daughter. She only likes plain Hershey bars, dark chocolate Hershey bars, and M&M's. So if we come to a house that is handing one of those out, our other kids know to grab one. It works because she'll pass on all her candy that she doesn't like, which is most of it.

My favorites are Twix and Baby Ruth bars.

I just recently discovered White Chocolate Kit Kats

OH MANNNNN
Why why oh WHY did you post that?? I didn't know they made white chocolate Kit Kats!

I'm partial to Milky Way Bars and Three Musketeers. I had one of each today while waiting for my car. Well worth the $554 in repairs. :scared1:

We don't get Trick or Treaters...we're on a narrow country road. And DS is 16, so no trick or treating. I just might have to pick some candy up on Sunday after markdowns. Except I'm dieting. Still. Again.

I've learned to buy Easter candy very close to Easter so I don't eat it beforehand.

I love candy! I don't know if I could choose just one favorite...nope I cant! My husband and I definitely raid the kids candy. We dump it into one big bowl and the whole family shares!

we don't get trick-or-treaters out here in the boonies, but i buy a small bag of candy to give to my friends' kids when we gather to trick-or-treat. usually fun size candy bars, tootsie roll pops or blow pops.
when we get home, i pick out everything DH will eat (the chocolate bars) and the things DD can eat (hard candy, m&ms, etc.-she's got a space maintainer, so nothing gummy or sticky), separate them, and toss the rest, so i'm not tempted to eat it. DD really doesn't care about the candy, she just goes to dress up and be with friends.

i bought a bag of mixed hershey's candy (reeses pb cups, hershey's bars, almond joys) to put in candy treat bags for a halloween party that we have to go to for my boyfriend's niece and nephews. i put 6 pieces of candy in each of the treat bags and my boyfriend and i ate the rest. i'm a sucker for reeses peanut butter cups (and the pumpkin shaped pb cups are my absolute fav!). i went to wal-mart today and almost bought another bag, but i stopped myself!

I like snickers bars

When I buy candy for trick for treaters I try to get things I don't like so I won't be tempted. This year I got caramel junior mints (not mint flavored - maybe they just call them caramel juniors...but I digress) and small packages of animal crackers. I still had a particularly bad day and opened one of the caramel boxes - bleh....they are sooo soo sweet - just ick...

My faves are twix and resses. I put all the candy on top of the china cabinet so I won't get into it before Halloween but leftovers are fair game (and... er.. my kid's treat bags sometimes).

Mini Hershey's with Almonds (but that is ALWAYS!!!)

Around this time of year, I try to snag a couple Double Bubbles!!! :lovestruc

Peanut butter cups. Mmmmm. I can stuff the whole thing in my mouth. I will eat them till I feel icky. And yes, if they are in the "pass out" bowl, I will raid it. Im not proud, but its the truth.

Oops! I forgot.. There's one other mini that would NEVER make it to the TOT's - LOL.. Mounds..:lovestruc

I've got $45 worth of Halloween candy staring at me right now. :lmao:
What we do is give away the candy in the mixed bag we like least - this year probably the plain Hershey's will be the first to go.
Kit Kats and Reeses, oh, and Whoppers will be last.
After DD's come back we take out the candy they don't like and give it to the late night teenage stranglers.

Carmel Apple Suckers and Dots....yummy!

I might have to go buy some of those tomorrow! My kids won't ever share the carmel apple suckers with me!
