Hi,
Thinking ahead for a stay at Universal. I definately want to check out the "other side":goodvibes

I love Soarin, Mickey's philharmagic, haunted mansion.....Wuss rides.

I love walking around WDW taking in the magic.

What is Universal like? Are there any fun rides or shows for Wusses?
Thanks
Kerri

Universal is for wusses. There is only one real thrill ride and that is the Mummy.

Islands of Adventure, on the other hand, has many thrill rides but still lots of really good ones for you.

I am the worlds biggest wuss and I LOVE Universal!!! I was wary at first but I love everything about Universal! I think it is far more "magical" than Disney. I skip the coasters and I am fine. I love walking around and just soaking in the atmosphere also. The theming is incredible and the resturants are also great. It is nice to be able to walk to everything- including Citywalk and the resorts. You will love it!

another wimp here - the only three rides I do not get on are hulk, dueling dragons and ripsaw falls

check my trip report for pictures and theming - its incredible

go and have a great time :thumbsup2

I'm a ride wuss too. Well, in between I would say. I loved Universal. Islands of Adventure is a cool looking park, but didn't do as much for me.

You guys are killing me with all this wuss talk. :rotfl:

Take a chance and ride some of these attractions...I'll ride em with ya! :teeth:

Another wuss chiming in, and I love both parks. The theming, atmosphere, food, drink and just "feel" of IOA is very cool. And there are rides for us wusses there. I have inner ear dysfunction and suffer from vertigo from just tipping my head sideways, and Spiderman is a must-do! It's not typical simulation. You can easily shut your eyes anytime you're feeling woosy.

Popeye's Bilge Barge is a circular raft ride with no big drops. Makes you laugh like a small child :thumbsup2

Posidean (sp?) is another one that's good for the wusses!

Get lunch at Mythos!!!! Amazing :)

Tons to do at Universal for us wusses, too. I can't do Mummy, and I haven't tried the Jimmy Neutron ride. Other than that, everything's good for wusses :thumbsup2

Another ride wuss checking in. I love US/IOA! The only rides I didn't do were Hulk, Dueling Dragons, Dr. Doom, Storm Excelerator (sp - too much spinning - its like the teacups) and Jimmy Neutron. I did have to close my eyes on the down portion of Spiderman, but thought it was a great ride! There were a couple of rides I did once, and once was enough, but I'm really glad I did do them - Dudley Do-Right and Revenge of the Mummy, otherwise everything else was fine.

Agreed! :thumbsup2

My wife is what I would call a "former wuss." In the past she'd never get on Hulk or DD. I wanted to ride the Hulk so bad but didn't want to go without her (felt bad about her waiting for me), so I finally talked her into it last year. She was nervous, but she did it. :) About half way through the ride she yelled at the top of her lungs "THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!" :goodvibes

That's usually the case with coaster chickens...sorry...don't mean to offend. They're afraid before and once they see how much fun coasters are, you can't keep them away.

I admitt it I'm a coaster chicken but love the mummy and the hulk and now I have to get up the courage to ride DD and just think my 12 year old DS wants to ride it and guess I am going to have to try it in july and then atleast I can say I rode it once :lmao: :lmao:

Thanks everyone.....I definately want to try Universal now:goodvibes

I'm dying to stay at Portofino.....so I figured I would do a
seaworld and Universal side trip.
Thanks everyone
Kerri

I enjoyed Universal(just back from last week). I rode E.T.(I love that ride!!), the raft river ride(only if you don't mind getting wet ) and the elevated train ride at Seuss land. All the shows are great, and overall less crowded, less frantic than Disney. Just do it!!!!!!
