I truly don't understand all the uproar over Kerry bringing up Cheney's daughter. I think he is very proud of his daughter and has every right to be. There is nothing to be ashamed or apalled (sp?) about. Neither VP Cheney nor his daughter are afraid or ashamed to talk about it as far as I've seen.

I believe the point is that it isn't his place to bring it up. It was a political strategy that will undoubtedly backfire. As far as Dick Cheney (or Mary) speaking out, no; however Lynn Cheney had some words about it: http://www.wbay.com/Global/story.asp?S=2428171

"CORAOPOLIS, Pa. Lynn Cheney says John Kerry's reference to her daughter in last night's debate was a "cheap and tawdry political trick."

Kerry was asked by the moderator if homosexuality is a choice. He noted that Vice President Dick Cheney's daughter Mary is a lesbian. Kerry said Mary Cheney would probably say that she was born that way. Lynn Cheney says Kerry invaded her family's privacy.

She says it gave her another chance to "assess" John Kerry, and she says it only reinforced her opinion that "This is not a good man." Cheney says she's "speaking as a mom, and a pretty indignant mom."

She made the comments while introducing the Vice President to a crowd of 800 Pittsburgh-area supporters. Dick Cheney didn't mention the topic in his remarks."

Bush won. Kerry was on the defensive. Kerry tried to show that he was to on top of things by providing so much techno babble. During the first debate Bush was chided for making faces. This time I could see Kerry with his mock smiles and his sighing. His bringing up Chenney's Daughter will have some ramifications over the next few weeks.

Kerry won hands down,. It's not only the online polls that agree with me the networks that had the undecided voters watch had Kerry winning big.

About the vice-presidents' daughter - I would have thought that it wasn't right for Sen. Kerry to mention her except I heard both the vice-president and his wife talk about their gay daughter when it suited them at a political meeting. When he wanted to appear more "sensitive" to the gay right issues they talk about having a gay daughter. You can't have it both ways.

I must be watching different shows on tv then because every analyst I listened to said Bush won. My local news and National news. The undecideds they showed on NBC this morning on the Today show; 3 decided on Bush, 2 for Kerry and one still undecided.

No way did Kerry win big, absolutely not. Bush won and it was a topic that Kerry should have won but he did NOT.

Kerry "won" blah blah blah

NEW JERSEY STANDARD OF LIVING:

- New Jersey has the highest auto insurance rates in the nation.
- New Jersey has the highest property taxes in the nation.
- New Jersey has the second highest statewide housing costs in the nation.
- New Jersey has the fifth highest amount of tax-supported debt in the nation.
- New Jersey has one of the highest statewide costs of living in the nation.
- New Jersey collects income taxes, sales taxes, property taxes, sin taxes, casino taxes, tourism taxes, and highway tolls, yet the state has massive budget problems.
- New Jersey ranks second in the nation in per-pupil spending, but its students' reading and math scores only achieve an average national ranking.
- New Jersey drivers were ranked the 3rd worst in the nation by Overdrive, a truckers' magazine. A truckers' magazine! How damning of an indictment can you get?
- You are not allowed to pump your own gas because New Jersey deems a gas pump to be complex machinery. Not surprisingly, it takes three times as long for a "trained" minimum-wage attendant to pump your gas than if you had pumped it yourself.
- Governor Jim McGreasy is resigning after having a gay affair and giving the state homeland security advisor position to his former boyfriend. Notably, the insightful New Jersey voters elected this sleazebag in a 15-point landslide.
- New Jersey residents receive less federal funding per dollar of federal taxes paid than any other state.
- New Jersey has the largest number of DEA defined toxic waste sites in the nation.
- New Jersey has the second worst air quality in the nation.

Yeah the Networks that have been favoring Kerry to Bush. measured at about 70% to 30%. Last time I looked Mary Cheney was the VPs and Lynn Cheney's Daughter. Kerry has no idea what Mary Cheney's reason for her lifestyle is. This was a planned attack, For both Edwards and Kerry to use it show's it was planned. Kerry is a lowlife for using it for Political Gain. Kerry will say anything to get elected, and he just proved it once again.

I agree. Hannity is a miserable human being.

We can always count on you Dawn to bring up the totally irrelevant and meaningless...

:

You may not agree with Hannity's politics but few would describe him as a miserable huming being. There is nothing irrelevant and meaningless about commenting on the character of the chairman of the DNC.

I would have to say President Bush. I think Kerry was asked point blank questions on where he was going to come up with the money for his Health Care Plan. And all he did was explain the plan to the American People. Not tell us where the money is going to come from.

I don't care what an online polls says

The poll showing Kerry winning decisively wasn't a online poll.

A CNN/USA Today/Gallup snap poll taken immediately after the presidential debate found that respondents gave a significant edge to Kerry over Bush, 52 percent to 39 percent.

The numbers were similar to the results of a poll taken the night of the first debate September 30 in Miami, Florida. That night Kerry was favored by a 53 percent to 37 percent margin.

Man, you're an easy mark.

You know John, if I decided to create new ID's everytime I got banned for going over the line I could be just as insulting as you are.

Sure you can. It's THEIR daughter and she might be ok with her parents bringing her up in any discussion but when did Kerry get that permission?

And it really shouldn't matter that she's an advocate for gay rights.

How would you like it if someone who didn't know you brought up a bit of your very personal life into a Presidential debate? It was a rotten thing to do.
