and if you don't please offer suggestions. :confused3

Our family vacation plans have changed where we will have only Saturday (from noon on) and Sunday in Orlando.
I may sound like a big kid but "I wanna go to Disney World  ".
Who has any suggestions or comments?

I figured we can start with MK because my niece has never been to DW and imh for the first time - you gotta do MK first and then Epcot later.
Then Sunday we can go to AK early and go to Epcot in the afternoon because of late emh that day and see what we missed.
MGM I guess we'll have to do another time.

What does everyone think? :woohoo:

Where are you staying? How late on Saturday are you arriving? What are the park hours during your visit? Who is in your party?
I guess I have more questions than answers at this point.

I would never pick Epcot over MGM so I am no help to you . But I would definatly spend a day at MK.

The biggest question is, what time of year are you going? Keep in mind the parks are HUUUUUGE and travel time around the properties may be a major factor as well. You may enjoy yourself a lot more just picking one park (of course the MK if you have never been) and going there for two days.

edit: misunderstanding, I read quickly while watching the news and thought it was the innitial trip for the entire party. sorry!

We will probably stay on site. I'm thinking POP or POFQ (although CR garden wing has a great rate that weekend).
We will arrive around noon on Sat.
It is in July so the parks will be open later, no late emh on Sat but there are late emh Sunday for Epcot.
There will me, DW, niece(15) and nephew(14).

P.S. My DW thinks I'm crazy :crazy2:

You aren't crazy! Just go, use your fastpasses and time wisely. You'll have a good time no matter what. :)

if mk is open late i think i'd spend the whole day/evening there cause you could probably see wishes and maybe spectro. then i'd do the ak/ epcot/illuminations thing the next day. it doesn't seem like you will see much of mk in 1/2 a day in july and i'd hate to run around so much
just keep in mind it's a "taste" for the kids, hopefully they can go back and see more some other time

I think you should seriously consider the CR garden room because the CR is a short walk to MK - and that could save you lots of time. Being at a monorail hotel is much more convenient all around, and all the parks are easily accessible from the CR (monorail or bus).

We have done several short weekend trips and always stay at the CR.

In my opinion you should start with MK, and I personally would take EPCOT over MGM.

You're not crazy. :) We had the same plans for my brother and sister-in-law who were supposed to come down for a visit this past month (but didn't, in the end). They only had 2 days, so we were going to hit MK first (since she's never been to Disney) and Epcot on the second day. Sounds like a great plan to me. :)

My first thought was, don't bother going.................But looking back on all our visits to the world, I have to agree with most of the posts. Stay at the Comtemporary, closest to MK, monorail resort for dinner resort dining. I would take all my park time at the MK, when you walk through the entrance and gaze up Main Street towards the Castle, PRICELESS !

If it were me, I think I would think of it as an "MK trip" and save the other parks for another trip. Since you are coming Saturday afternoon and MK is likely to be very crowded, I would use Saturday primarily as a time to see wishes and Spectro. (Of course, I'd grab fastpasses to any big attraction that still had fastpasses left). I'd get up first thing Sunday morning and arrive at MK at least 20 minutes before opening and have a plan so that you can enjoy as many big attractions as possible before the park gets crowded. My thought is, since your time in the parks is so short, why waste any time park hopping-I'd save the other parks for a return trip. Whatever you decide to do, have a great time!

You are not crazy. I agree with the other poster's that recommend staying at the CR. Doing just the MK will be enough to fill the short time you are there and that way you will be able to enjoy yourself without the rush of getting to the other parks.

If you like running around on a moderate level as I do then maybe go to MK for Saturday and then again for Sunday morning. After lunch take the monorail to Epcot, go on some rides and end your stay by catching Illuminations. Note: If you are interested in going on Soarin' then get a fast pass the second you get to Epcot. We were there over two weeks ago and the wait was somewhere between 50-70 minutes and the fast passes ran out by 5pm.

Good luck and enjoy with whatever you choose
