ok who stole my Japan February 5th date?!

Congrats! Hey if your disney planner sends you any pics of Japan ceremonies, could you post or send one or two. I'm dying to see some! Happy wedding planning! :)

Yeah, it was me. I posted, but then I thought "Man, he/she will probably get mad at me for stealing their date!"

My fiance has been handling all the small details (like a location is a small detail? lol), so she's just been making me say "yes", "no" & "Whatever you want!" I'll talk & see if SHE has any pictures from the wedding folks, but I took a few when we went on our site visit Thursday. They aren't the best as I took a lot of them while I was walking, but here they are (click for bigger):

This is just the general Japan pavilion

This is the bridge where we'll be getting married. Where I took the picture is where people will be sitting. We were told we'd need a mic for everyone to hear us, so whomever gets married there will probably have to pay extra for A/V

My fiance's little sister is posing for us there for scale. The only problem with this spot is that darn tree!

Here's a pic looking out from on top of the bridge to where our people would be sitting. Those people thought we were taking pictures of them :teeth:

These are the steps up on one side of the bridge.

These are the kind of chairs they'll be using for ceremonies at Japan to seat everyone. She was assuring us they'll be cleaned, steamed, and buffed up to a like-new polish!

I have bigger versions of the 1024x768 pictures if you want them, It's just that imageshack doesn't like them for being too big. I also have more pictures I took if you want them. I can put them in a .zip file for you & give you a link!

I'll be standing on that bridge a week after you guys. Monday February 12th.

THANKS for the photos!!! The more the merrier! I'd LOVe your zip file. email it to me if you'd rather not post it: andylisawedding@yahoo.com

I didn't realize how REALLY FAR AWAY we would be from everyone else. Guests won't be able to get pictures of the service will they? Are you having a professional photographer? I wasn't going to. It's so expensive!!!

An AV guy? How much is that! This disney wedding is really adding up!

I love that some grooms are on the boards and not just us bridezillas (actually I'm not a bridezilla. very low key. but my guy definitely gets stressed out when i talk wedding stuff. he just wants to know where and when to show up. but he LOVES disneyworld so maybe that will take out some of the sting of losing his freedom ;)

Thanks again! And please share anything you learn about your wedding planning. Inquiring minds want to know!!!

PS. i wonder if they could tie that tree down. Use some burlap cord just to bend the top over a bit :)

Woooo! Glad you aren't mad! :goodvibes

Yeah, it is kinda far away, but it's also higher up, so personally I think it adds to that "Hey guys, we're getting married, so PAY ATTENTION TO US!" kinda thing that everybody wants on that day. As far as people taking pictures there, I don't see why not. They'll just have to use a small amount of zoom on their camera if they want to get close-up shots. Yeah, we're hiring a professional photographer Egomedia Photography. They do awesome work from what I've seen. Pricey, but definately worth it!

The price on the AV person i'm not sure of. As soon as I find out I'll let you know. Yeah, I haven't been on the Disboards in a LOOOOOOOOOONG time, and I thought i'd come back & look around. Guess it's a good thing I did!

Oh yeah, that tree.... It IS a bit pesky, but it won't get much taller. It's a bonsai so it may grow another inch by time you get there, as it's 30 years old now.

Zip file time! Right click, save as!

GOOD point about the TA DA! Look at us everyone! I LOVE that!

Maybe Andy and I will run into you guys there so be sure to wear your wedding mickey/minnie pin :)

Have a great weekend. I'm off to the diner now -- I'm STARVING!

My fiance and I are hoping for Japan for an October 2007 wedding date. We're going down in June for a site visit, but I'm glad to see the photos you took. I hadn't been able to picture exactly where they would do the ceremony and where the guests would sit. I'm glad to see others are planning on a Japan wedding. We've been searching but we haven't been able to find anyone else who has! I'll be looking forward to hearing how yours goes next February in anticipation of mine later in the year. :)

This is great! You guys can definately share experience and work arounds for each of your weddings...4 brains are better than 2!!!

Do you know if it is possible for them to set it up so the ceremony is down in front of the koi pond closer to the guests?

Absolutely, why not. I just like the idea of being on the little bridge.

Then on all our future disney trips we can stand in the exact same spot where we got married :)

did you guys see the cake posting? $700, $900 for a disney cake!!!

Oh, I love the photos and congrats to everyone who is going to get married in that location. It's beautiful, ~sigh.~

By the way, if anyone wants different chairs for their ceremony, don’t forget that you can pay to upgrade them to something else. Disney has several options at different price points.

I love the bridge and I definitely want some pictures on it, but I'm mostly concerned about our families being able to see us well. My parents don't have the best eyesight. My mom has eye problems, so I'd like to be closer to them. :)

The bridge is great and everything, but if you want to be closer to everyone, there's always the pagoda as an option!

Oh my gosh, now I'm totally torn now!

would you still need a microphone set up for the pagoda do you think?

the bridge is lovely and pituresque with a nice long walk to drag out the drama ;) but the pagoda is pretty cool and close by. And if you had a bigger wedding party you could fit more of them on the pagoda than the bridge!

If anyone's interested, Here's a pic of the pagoda (in addition to Jono's Japan photos):

We need someone to post a Japan ceremony trip report!

I love the pagoda but I think I like having the koi pond as the background a bit better. We were thinking about getting an A/V person anyway, since we wanted music from CD, so I suppose we'd have a microphone either place. But I would think since it is outdoors and the pagoda is kinda high up, it would be a good idea to have a microphone there too. I'll definitely post any pictures or information when I get back from my site visit in June. :)
