My sister called me with the very disturbing news that it is no longer open in the Mall of Louisiana. What the heck? It was always busy and there were always lines of people at the registers. Why would they close it?:confused3:mad::sad1:

Hi wehavesix!

I am also very sad about the closure. It closed back in Jan .
They were going to renovate and had to change stores for awhile, but the lease negotiations went south and Disney pulled out. I was friends with a girl who has worked there since it opened .

A close friend used to own a hamburger place upstairs and MOL got greedy greedy with the rent . She and her hubby also left about a year or so ago.

I hate it, I used to do all my goodie shopping there for trips.

Me too! I live in Monroe and every time I went down to visit sis or do some work for the Dept. of Ed. I made sure to make a trip to the Disney Store. Dang! I guess we're stuck with online shopping but that's just not the same. I wonder if they might reopen somewhere else. Maybe in that new area with the Whole Foods store?

I think a lot of the problems that boutique studio shops have had stemmed from the devaluation of what they offered, in the minds of consumers. The demand may not have gone down much, but the premium people were willing to pay plummeted. If people are only going to be willing to pay Sears prices, then you might as well sell the stuff at Sears, and avoid all the excessive overhead of running a boutique.
