I wanted to hold out for a deal before booking a room, but two things have me concerned..

1) The time we go there will be a national dance competition so I worry about being able to get the resort we want.

2) Historically an offer has not come out until after the date of our 90 (gonna be 180 soon, I know) day mark.

My question is this.. If I book room only at the resort I want, can we do ADR's for the +10? Or do you have to book an entire package to have that ability? Not sure (but leaning toward) dining plan, do you have to do that to get the +10 booking window? I know that means booking a package to get the dining plan.

Thanks for any help!

Not sure if I completely understand your questions but I will try to explain the 90+10 rule. You can make your first ADR at 90 days from the check in date of your trip. And you can also make reservations for the following 10 days after that check in date. Many people misunderstand and think you can make ADRs at 100 days out.

This plus 10 thing hurts you because someone that checks in a few days before you can book the time and day you want before you can even have a chance at it. That causes a lot of problems. What you need to do on the 90 day mark is have your choices ready and check online and also call if you need to the minute you can. If nothing is available try being flexible on your times a little and also maybe adjust the number in your party. Sometimes there is a slot for three instead of 2 people. This is not especially honest but it is allowed. In my case i will have my adult son joining us for one day at the MK so we needed 5 that day and the rest of my time only 4.

Hope this helps. Good Luck.

I believe that all you need to make ADRs for 90+10 is a basic room-only reservation. As long as you give the confirmation number for that, you should be good to go.

A room only will open the 90+10, but if you're planning on booking any prepaid meals, you'll have to pay for them when you make the ADR and then wait until your trip to pay with dining credits and be reimbursed. That's why I prefer to have my package booked before my ADR date - it is only a $200 deposit, and with the dining plan on the reservation, I don't have to prepay CRTY and any dinner shows we might want to do.

Thank you everyone for your responses! I didn't mean to confuse people with the 180 +10 thing, just effective Oct 27th people will be able to book 180 days out so I will have to be in the pack that calls or does it online that day.

My "Princess" has outgrown the CRT and I have no plans for the other prepaids, so I will be good on that score!

Looks like all I need to be able to do that +10 window is have a room only, so I will go that route!

Thanks!
