Finally convinced the wife this would probably end up being our last trip......till time to take grandchildren (which hopefully will be some time away). Our oldest is 13 and just doesn't get much of a break from sports after this year except during the dead heat of the summer.....and no.....I care nothing about going when the avg temp is 98 degrees....anyway....so here are my questions:

1. If we are staying at a resort and get our tickets from Undercovertourist, do they sync up those with the magic bands.....or whatever? Would we have 2 different bracelet things now? Not sure what the process is here. I've seen mention of personalized......?

2. So what is the deal with pictures now? No photopass anymore? Is it this Memory Maker? I'm used to ordering the photopass, collecting all the cards at the end of the trip, putting the codes in after we get back, and then ordering the CD. I want the CD..... so help me here.....

Thanks a bunch....may have more after the responses....

As to Q#1--Your UT tickets will arrive in the mail. They will have a number on the back. Go to MDE and assign each ticket to a member of your party by typing in the number on the back of each ticket. Done. You are now good to go.

Have never used PP or MM, so I can't help you there.

Or even better scan the ticket barcode with the MDE app (so you don't have to worry about typing in the number incorrectly).

If you order tickets through UT, once you've gotten them in the mail, you can link them to people on the hotel reservation, and thus, to the magic bands. Bring the cards with you just in case they didn't link properly or something mishaps with them

Photopass: there is only memory maker now. If you want to preorder it, it's something like $160 and is what the old photopass PLUS used to be. So the pre order includes digital downloads of all ride and dining pictures, along with any you take in the parks.

You can still order the cd/downloads after you return home but it is more expensive

PhotoPass is actually the photo-taking service; Memory Maker replaced the PhotoPass + CD. You can pre-order MM for $149 or get it in the park for $199. If you're not interested in ride or dining photos, you can pre-order the PhotoPass Archive CD here:

Do they have photogs in the restaurant when characters come around and visit? They did in 2008 but haven't done PP or MM since. I heard they were doing away with character photos. I have 6 character dining ressies made so it's kind of a big deal if there aren't photogs in there.

Yes, and I believe this only includes digital downloads. You can, however order the CD from Disney for $29.99 or simply download the images and burn your own.

I'm pretty sure they've never had photographers in the restaurants - just a photo op outside the restaurant. And they're not doing away with the photos; they're just not printing out the pictures and going around to the tables and asking guests if they want to buy them.

I have pics of our group at L TT from Oct 2008...I know no one in our group took them. I remember getting some taking inside Tusker House in July 2009 too. But realize that def could have changed in 5 years. So up to us to take pics at character meals...I can do this but makes buying MM+ questionable for me.

I have a question about this- so Akershus and CRT include a photo in the price of the buffet. So do we not get the photo at the restaurant now? Chef Mickey takes a photo, but you have to buy it, so I get where MM or PP come into play here. But what about the restaurants where it has always been included in the price?

The thing I don't get about MM is that I always bring my own camera and take my own pictures along side the photographer. So why would I buy MM? Half the time I don't even like the pictures taken by the PP photographer. Mine are usually better. I guess it's mainly for people who don't want to bring cameras?

Really the best place to have photographers would be the character meals! I'd love to be able to just enjoy watching my daughter starstruck by Cinderella instead of fumbling with my camera. I'd get MM in a heartbeat if they had them at character meals.

Akershus and CRT remain exactly the same. No change, still receive a photo in its holder.

Letting the photopass photographers take pictures means all of us are in the picture, which is very important to me. They will usually take a picture with your camera though if you want.

The photopass photographers can do the magic shots too. And you get the borders, etc.

I just really like pictures of our vacations and it's nice to have the photopass photographers taking some of them.

ETA. Oh, and the ride photos. You can't take those yourself.

Excellent points. I didn't realize you got ride photos too. We may splurge and do MM this trip. Thanks
