Well we decided to book spring break we will be in WDW at the fort over easter next year. March 18th thru the 28th. Any advice from anyone that has been there during this time. My wife is looking forward to the flower festival and I am looking forward to the cooler weather and the kids don't know yet!

We've been 3 times over Spring Break. Each time I say never again, but then school schedules force the issue. Weather and F&G will be great. The crowds won't.

As long as you go knowing it will be busy, you'll be fine. The last trip we picked 1 or 2 things each day we really wanted to do/see. Anything else we considered gravy. Made for a more enjoyable trip. Thankfully our school scheduld trips are almost over. DS graduates HS in 2017.

lokin4deer,

I have a ressie coming in on Easter weekend currently so we overlap a little. I don't know that I'm going to keep it but if I do:

Teamubr: Thanks for the comments, we figured it was going to be crowded still a little concerned about it being THAT crowded. My wife is good as scheduling that stuff I guess she will earn he her pay that week!

bama_ed: If I remember your previous post you selected the 100 loop. We did also! I would love to share a drink with you at the fort. You have helped me out a lot in the past!

We are going over our spring break which is a week later than yours. We also went last year and only went to the water parks and some restaurants, had a GRREAT time. The weather was perfect, and we are also pretty bound by our kids schedules as they get older, so it worked out great. Your 180 day window is coming up!

How bad are the water parks during spring break? We are taking a cruise and get off March 31, 2016, which is my son's bday (he's turning 7). This will be the week after Easter. He is wanting to go to Disney after the cruise, but we've never been during spring break. Not too sure what to expect. Is it bumper to bumper traffic everywhere you go? We will be staying off site and were looking to do a water park and maybe Epcot (his favorite park) to see the flower and garden festival. We've been to Disney several times but always in October, or mid December, and late April.

It depends a lot on the weather. I've been twice recently over Spring break. The first trip was warm. 80s most days and the water parks were busy. Last trip was long pants and jacket weather most of the week. There were a lot more people at the water parks than I expected, but I wouldn't call it busy.

Traffic? Well, it is, Spring break.

steph12,

The week leading up to Easter Sunday and the week following Easter Sunday are the two busiest weeks of the first half of the year at the Disney theme parks. The Fort is in demand too as evidenced by the pricing model. You'll be offsite as you said but it is busy.

If that's when you're going to go, then do it, but be prepared for crowds. We normally go in spring and the F&G Festival makes Epcot interesting (also F&W in the fall).

Have fun on the cruise.

We've been down there for the last 7 years on spring break. You definitely picked the right amount of days to go over spring break. We always do a 10-14 day trip over spring break. It's the only way to see what you want and not be rushed. Trust me you can see and do everything you want. It just takes planning. Lots of planning.

Get your fast passes for the afternoon or evening when the crowds are busy then get to the park for the rope drops. We were surprised that even at MK in the height of spring break you can get on all the big rides right when they open. 4-5 of them sometimes in a couple hours. Then we go back to the fort take a break and then use our fast passes for the busy rides in the afternoon when the crowds are busy.

F&G festival is awesome we always take a day and walk around the festival and not really worry about rides that day. Maybe ride a couple. But it takes a good half a day to walk around and see everything. Bonus is now they're incorporating in the food festival with the F&G festival. Lots of food tents now.

DTD seems like it's the only place that's over crowded at spring break so bad that we avoid it. Last year it was over an hour to get a sandwich at earl of sandwich. Forget about any other restaurant. Shops are crazy too. I've never seen so many people waiting in line to get on the busses at night too. Way worse than the parks.

Easter Day is CRAZY. If you plan on eating out pick a restaurant early and make any reservations for that day as early as you can. It fills up fast. Easter egg hunts are fun for the kids. The fort does a cool Easter basket thing in the trading posts. You bring your own or buy a few things in the store like candy or toys and they wrap it up in a Easter basket for you for a few bucks.

Be prepared for the busses to be crowded and don't let in ruin your trip. Just leave enough time to deal with it. Like I said we go every year and sometimes we say we'll try a different time of year but we always go back. Weather is just to good to pass up.

We have APs so we are at the parks a lot and we don't like crowds. Try doing MK late and stay till close, which can be as late as 2am with magic hours. The weather is so nice in the evenings and the castle is always amazing lit up at night. We usually can walk on to all the major rides with less than a 10-15 minute wait after 10pm. As for the F&G Festival, we like to get there early for that one, but Epcot is so spread out, it never really feels that crowded.

We are going for spring break, too. March 30-April 4. We went during break 3 years ago and were shocked at how long it took the parks to fill up. We basically walked on to rides until about 11:30, and the used fast passes in the afternoon. The only place we had to wait was Soarin, but we stayed at Boardwalk, so had to go in through the world showcase. We will probably do the same thing this time... Get an early start, then have lunch and pool time at the hotel, then back to a park for fast passes.

The water parks were not too crowded last spring break (the week after Easter). We went to both in one day and felt like we did everything. I think the longest we stood in line was maybe 45 minutes for the crushin gusher, but it was worth it! We are going back in April and it was a great time weather wise to go to the water parks.

Things might work out. DD will be marching in the MSEP in the MK on Sunday March 20. So it looks like I will keep that March 19 arrival date for the Fort and see how long we can hang there till it's time to go home.
