Ok, was I wrong???

Darn, it looks like I missed a good thread! I need to cut sleeping and housework out....its interfering with being nosey on the DIS.

Who asked people to edit posts - a mod or the OP? Not that it matters, I am just being nosy...:rotfl:

FTR, if someone PMed me to ask me to delete a post I had quoted, I would certainly do it. I'm not into being a bully online.

Me too :lmao:

For what it's worth, I'm against splitting a bill unless it is discussed before hand and everyone agrees.

Has anyone played credit card roullette? My dh goes to a basketball tournament every year with a few of his guy friends from college. They are usually gone for two nights, and end up having 4 or 5 meals while they are out. What they do each meal is: at the end of the meal, everyone tosses their credit card into a pile and the waitress chooses one, and that is who pays (for the whole bill). Once you have paid during the trip, your credit card no longer gets put in the pile (so you won't have to pay again). Yeah, sometimes one person ends up with a really big bill and another person's will be small. But over the years, it has probably evened out and they all have agreed this is how they are going to do it, so there aren't any hurt feelings. One year, one of the guys was in a bit of a bad situation financially, and the other guys made sure the waitress picked his card during a lunch when the bill wasn't very high.

My husband is adament about not splitting. He goes on Military TDY's with his Air National Guard Unit. My husband is very frugal when he is out of town on these trips and when they all go out he refuses to pay for these guys bar bills. Some of them always try to split the bill down the middle and say everyone owes $100 (or something like that) - my husband always says - I'll pay my $30, lol.

I usually split for work meals - cuz we eat out often enough it evens out and we don't drink alchohol. I have a friend that I go out with and she orders drinks - I never split.

I would have asked for separate checks at the beginning rather than waiting until the end to split the bill. I have done that before when out with another couple - that way, if DH and I decide to order wine or dessert, we don't feel that we are burdening our friends with having to pay for our selections.
