Ok since my last trip was a bust...

I am trying to plan a new one.

We do not want to return during the summer if possible.

So, we have been during Thanksgiving week which was ok the first couple of days and then got super crowded.

May 27th - June 1 was ok.

How is the week before Christmas crowd compared to Thanksgiving?

I was at Disney the week of Christmas. It was crowded, but there were a lot of special events and beautiful decorations that aren't there the rest of the year. The candlelight processional at epcot can be combined with dinner at one of the restaurants and then you get to sit in a designated area for the performance. There's a great Christmas parade at MK, and the Osbourne light spectacle at MGM. Worth it!
