Ok, I have looked at all the resturants on the web site and even in the 'Unoffical Guide book'.

Now can I please have some recommendations on where to eat? There are sooo many to choose from I really would like to go off of refferals from Disney Veterans.

I just want to make some PS for dinners. We like to eat early and are simple eaters. Any suggestions would be greatly apperciated!

I don't know what I would of done had my friend not told me about this GREAT web site.

Thanks for all the input, you are making this trip and planning a lot of fun for us!!!!

Eating is one of my favorite things to do at WDW! In Epcot, I would try one of the restaurants in the World Showcase. I have eaten at the restaurants in Mexico and Norway and enjoyed them both. This time we're going to Marrakesh in Morroco for something a bit more adventurous. At MGM, I would recommend Sci-Fi. The food is good - not great, but good - but the atmosphere is what you're paying for and I found it to be loads of fun. In the MK, I would recommend CRT. We had PS last time for 2:00 or 3:00 in the afternoon, had no trouble getting in, and the food and atmosphere were spectacular. Cinderella was in the lobby and we had our picture taken with her before going upstairs to dine. This was our favorite meal while there! I have not eaten at AK, so not sure there. We have also done Chef Mickey's for breakfast which was entertaining and energetic.

Remember, you will get a different opinion from everyone you ask, so just do what you think YOUR GROUP will enjoy and everyone probably will! :D

There are so many to choose from, it can be a little overwhelming. Are there any children in your group? They can really eat anywhere, as long as they like things like chicken fingers or mac&cheese.

If you want to be adventerous, but be assured that you will get plenty that you like, defintely eat at Boma at AKL. There are a lot of African dishes, but plenty of American food. And top the evening off with a tour of the hotel and the animals.

In Epcot, try a country that interests you. You're on vacation - eat something you might not be able to get at home. Le Cellier in Canada has a great reputation for wonderful cheese soup and steaks. I have not personally eaten there yet, but I will in November. We have eaten at Marrakesh and the food was wonderful. It has a little different flavor to it, but it is not hot/spicey. Teppanyaki in Japan is always fun and even children who are normally picky eaters like the food!

At MK I really like Liberty Tree Tavern. Many good choices on the menu.

At MGM I liked the atmosphere at Sci-Fi and the food was good - not great. Didn't eat anywhere else there.

DH and I had afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian. We really enjoyed this. Might be something a little different to try and you could do it around 3:30 and then skip dinner.

We ate at Jiko and loved it so much we went back a second time in the same trip.

I'm sure you'll get a lot of opinions. And they will vary. Every restaurant can have a bad night. I just tried to choose the ones that seemed to have good reviews on a consistent basis. We had a really hard time deciding and finally I just accepted that we couldn't do it all in one trip and we would just have to come back every year to try new places!

Hey firsttime - I remember when we went for the first time. It was just me and my DW, and we were celebrating our anniversary. We went to the Luau at the Poly - that was a most memorable meal.

We've been back many times since then and here are some of our favorites: Spoodles and Flying Fish at the Boardwalk. Beaches & Cream at BC/YC. Cape May Cafe character breakfast at YC.

Whispering Canyon and Artist Point at WL.

Rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom park.

Portobello Yacht Club, Planet Hollywood at Downtown Disney.

Teppanyaki at Japan in Epcot.

I'm sure there are others, but these are ones we really enjoy.

What are your favorite foods to eat - perhaps that will help with more suggestions.

I spent all last week making my PS for my trip in October. I decided to try some new places and some old favorites this time and was lucky enough to get all the times and meals I wanted. I am staying at WL for the first and flying solo for the first time, so I have a lot of flexability, but here's where I'm dining this time:

Shula's--I've heard nothing but raves about this place and am making it my first nights meal to start my trip in style.

Sci-Fi Dine In--The only sit down restarant in MGM that I like. The food is good and the atmosphere is out of this world. I have so much fun everytime I eat here.

Alfredo's--My favorite place at EPCOT. It is unjustly slammed on many of these boards, but I have never had a bad meal or bad service here. I prefer to schedule lunch here because it is a little cheaper then.

Yachtsman's Steak House--Trying this one for the first time for dinner. I'm a big steak man, so I have to scout out all these steak houses. :p

I also made breakfast plans for Grand Floridian Cafe and Concourse Steak House as they are close to the hotel I'm staying at.

I just need to make my dinner PS for Cinderella's Royal Table in August and I'll be all set.

You didn't mention where youa re staying but if you are close to POR I would also highly recommend Boatwrights. The food is excellant there.

And for a light meal in DD, you can't beat House of Blues!!

On our first trip - we had a lot of great meals, but the one that stands out for me was the Rose and Crown in England on our last night. As much as I love Mickey - it was nice to sit and have a wonderful meal without all the bells and whistles going off!

Other places we love:

Garden Grill (EPCOT - and has characters)

Plaza Restaurant (MK)

Cape May Buffet (Beach Club resort)

Kona Cafe (Polynesian resort)

Have fun - and remember - you can't do it all!

Because you said you like "simple food" you might enjoy Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge. They have a variety of BBQ and comfort type foods in a fun atmosphere. Have a great trip!

Hi, my favorites for simpe meals would be Le Cellier, great cheese soup and steak, 50s Prime Time, comfort food and great atmosphere, and then there are the buffets, good food and something everyone can eat. I like Cape May, it has clams and mussels, also Chef Mickeys and Crystal Palace has characters to boot. Have fun!

My DH is a picky, picky eater. He is seldom happy with a meal when we go out. I usually get an "It was all right" from him :-) I'm fairly easy to please. Our favorites so far are:

Epcot: Teppanyaki and Alfredo's --- Picky Hubby has requested BOTH of these for our next trip. I agree with the other poster who said that Alfredo's gets a bad rap! We had the best service here and the Fettuchini Alfredo is to die for.

MGM: Prime time cafe -- fun if you get a good service and very simple "comfort" food... However .... if we skip one on our list to try something new this would be it.

MK: Crystal Palace -- we both enjoyed this breakfast buffet

Resorts: Whispering Canyon Cafe -- fun and good BBQ
Beaches and Cream -- yummy in my tummy

These are the ones that stick out as places either hubby or I REALLY want to go back to. We have had plenty of other good dining experiences as well.

We try to mix it up a bit when we go. ... not too many buffets. Try something new each time, ect.

Happy planning!

Epcot - The Rose and Crown Pub is our favorite there. I always get the Fish and Chips. We've sat outside and watched Illuminations and that was great! On my trip last week we ate lunch there instead and just walked in without PS. The service is terrific. I've tried all of the other Epcot restaurants except for Marrakesh. None are bad, but I love the Rose and Crown. Also, there is great "fast-type" Chinese food at the Chinese pavilion in their smaller restaurant (I can't remember the name). Their larger, more formal restaurant was just so-so.

Magic Kingdom - The Crystal Palace is a great place, especially for lunch. It was mobbed last week! The food is very good and the prices are reasonable considering the variety. Liberty Tree Tavern is excellent as well. Their Character Dinner is a hoot!

MGM - We don't have a favorite here, although I've tried them all over the years. Mama Melrose's was just ok when we had lunch there a few years back. We usually duck into the Starring Rolls bakery to grap a snack and eat elsewhere.

Animal Kingdom - The only place I've tried is the Rainforest Cafe. I don't think the food is as good as it used to be, but the atmosphere is fun.

Downtown Disney - Portobello Yacht Club is always a good choice. I love the location and eat outside if possible. Wolfgang Puck's is another good choice and the menu is different than anything else in the World. House of Blues sounds great, but we've never been able to work it into our trips....hopefully, next time!

Resorts - Olivia's is one of my sentimental favorites for lunch as a DVC member. We always have at least one lunch here. The California Grill is fabulous and a terrific splurge. Big River Brewing over at the Boardwalk has a wonderful Chicken Dijon sandwich and their salmon and pulled pork is also excellent. I love the pizza at Mara, the buffet place at the AKL - obviously, no PS needed there! Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club is terrific.

:D
