I know a lot of posts have been about surprising lately, but i need your help with this one.
We are leaving on the 27th, and my girls don't know yet...we were just there in August and celebrated my 5yo dd b-day. My second dd will be 4 on the 25th and the baby with be 1 on the 24th, so when we asked my dd what she wanted for her b-day she said to spend her b-day with Mickey...GREAT IDEA!!
So, as hard as it has been for me i have kept quiet...my 5 yo is just starting to read, but dont know if she would "get it'' If i wrote something about going.
Do any of you smart, crafty people have any ideas... :confused3 I really want them to be surprised.
We were going to tell them that we were going somewhere to visit family and when we got to MCO we would just tell them, but i want something good!

Could you pack a couple (small)of their favorite Disney characters in a carry on? Then when you land at MCO,pull out the characters and ask if they would like to see these characters? Surprise-guess where we are?!!!

How about making up a packing list, using pictures instead of words, and asking them to help you fill the suitcase. Maybe on page two add something like Mouse Ears or something that they would associate with the trip you just took there. :teeth:

Or how about letters in the mail from Mickey and his friends? That's always a classic. You could do minimal wording and have your 5yo read them.....maybe Mickey saying "We miss you!' then another from Donald asking "When will you come visit us?" or Cinderella sending an invitation to her castle. If you several of them over many days, they will be thinking about it a lot before you tell them. They will really be excited then!

Tinkerbell came to our house the night before our trip. This is how DD found out where we were going. I came home early from work, dumped pixie dust (glitter) in a trail from my living room window, thru the living room, into DD's playroom. In the playroom, I had a treasure map themed letter from Tink informing DD that we were going to Mickey's house and that Tink wanted her to have some things for the trip. Included in the basket of presents was a Tink backpack, glow necklaces, coloring books, crayons, small princess toys, etc. DD LOVED it when she came home from Day Care and discovered what Tink had left.

How much fun!! My parents surprised my sister and I once and we still talk about it over 20 years later. We were watching tv and the characters were at Disney World and my sister and I started talking about how we wished we could go to Disney. My Dad was listening and said, "Okay, get in the car." I still remember the shock. Apparently it took half an hour to convince us he wasn't kidding. He and my mom already had the car packed. We only recently found out that they had been planning the trip for months.
So, if you let your daughter watch tv, you could put on the Disney channel and start talking about the great rides, characters, etc. It wouldn't be long before the kids would say how they'd like to go back. Hope you have a wonderful time and know that they will remember this surprise forever. (My sister was about 5 at the time and we both remember the surprise better than the trip.)

Well i wont have to do anything to make them talk about wanting to go back to WDW..they LITERALLY ask on a daily basis when we can go back..lol
OK i was thinking maybe packing one of their princess dresses for each of them in our carry on and when we get to MCO taking them out and saying "i think we may need these"...and see what happens
we go so often that my dd 5 will know the airport..lol
