I have a constant dilema......I can never find the right bed pillow. I go through pillows like crazy. They just don't last and sometimes I spend some money on them. I like a fluffy firm pillow that won't break the bank and will last a while. Any suggestions anyone on what to buy and where? TIA

Have you given buckwheat pillows a try? I know it sounds unusual, but I have a wool/buckwheat combo pillow and adore it. Fluffy-firm describes it to a T. I can adjust it by adding more buckwheat or removing some. To wash, just empty the case and wash like a pillowcase. You can change the buckwheat if you want to freshen it up, we've had it a while and haven't seen the need. There are hypoallergenic varieties that may be beads rather than buckwheat, too, but I found them noisier and shiftier than buckwheat.

Buckwheat pillows are definitely different, for one thing ours are much smaller than customary pillows, but then your head stays put more on it, so I'd try it before committing to it, but if you like it, you can make your own using the chafe/bead/grain and fiber (such as kapok, wool, or cotton) that you prefer, for very little.

Sounds interesting, I'm willing to give anything a try and the fact that I can add more sounds good.

We get ours at Costco. They come in a 2 pack. I can't remember the price, but they are reasonable. Make sure you use pillow protectors under the pillow cases.

Ikea feather/down pillow...9.99....simply my favorite pillow ever!

I can't sleep without my Memory Foam pillow. Check them out. Best prices are at Walmart. We also use the Memory Foam mattress topper too. Best, most comfortable sleep ever. :thumbsup2

We stayed at The Signature at MGM in Las Vegas in August and the pillows were heavenly! My husband has complained every night since then. I'm was so tired of hearing him complain, I called The Signature to ask them who makes the pillows (it's the Phoenix Down Company). Now I need to find out the specific type. DH has to go out of town to work and I want to surprise him with the pillows when he comes home next month. :lovestruc

I love everything about DW except their pillows. The foamy, things just don't do it for me, and I am left without a decent night's sleep. This trip I will bring my down pillows. Goose feather fluffy and so pliable I can wrap them around my ears lying on my back to cloud the noise.

It will be niiiiiice.

We thought the pillows at AKL were great...not so much at ASMu. We have pillow issues as well and are constantly in search of a good one. How sad is that!? :rotfl:

I will have to show this thread to my DH. I can never find a pillow I like, either, and buy new ones ALL THE TIME. They are never quite right. He rolls his eyes every time I come home with a new one to try . . . . . and then return it a couple of days later.

I've been through a zillion pillows myself, and finally found one I really love: Isotonic memory foam contour pillow, petite size. It's the kind of foam that stays cool, and because it comes in a smaller size, it was perfect for my head and neck, unlike the usual-size memory-foam pillow.

Love the memory foam! We got free TempurPedics with our mattress but they were so big, we don't use them. I got mine at Target for $20.00 I think.

I just bought a new pillow at Kohl's this week. They had pillows 50% off, plus I had a 20% coupon .
I purchased a CHAPS density pillow for side sleepers. Orig price $29.99, price with coupon $11.99 plus 7% sales tax.
Very nice texture, and I did sleep better the first night.

OMG, I am so glad to see I'm not the only one that is a freak about pillows.;)
I bought the Kohl's chapps one last, extra firm and flatter than a pancake now. I've had them only a few months. I'm a flipper too. I flip my pillow at night like a 100x's. I might have had Costco one's a while ago. As for memory foam they seem low like my head would lay not even with shoulder's if that makes sense.

LOL!!! I had to laugh,my DH, has BIGTIME pillow issues! I have a linen closet FULL of pillows, because when he brings yet another one home-it's THE one-NOT! He's tried the memory one, the Ikea one, the one from Sam's Club, the one we took from my mom's house,etc.-nothing.One day,he'll find his pillow, like one day, I'll find my mattress!

same problem...buy pillows love them for a month or so and thats it! tried everything..i'm thinking of trying the memory foam...

Charter Club vail elite pillows form Macy's are awesome but super expensive. I bought mine last year on black friday and love them. I forgot how much I paid but they are worth every penny.

jc penney has ones that are down alternative with some kind of gel fiber  I don't know what it is but, they are awesome! It's the only pillow that has stayed fluffy and its the only time in my life I have been able to sleep with only one pillow.

We were constantly replacing our pillows. They just didn't hold their shape/firmness. One day I had enough and bought 2 memory foam pillows from BJ's. They were about $35 ea. They are fabulous. Took a few nights to get used to the firmness, now I don't think I could sleep on anything else.:thumbsup2 Now I need to work on replacing our 3yr. old mattress. That's another story:mad:
