OK, I'm confused!

I have been trying to research what dress attire is appropriate for the 7 night cruises and I've come up with a couple different answers. First of all, I've heard that rotation PLAPLAP is prefered due to the fact that it goes along with the formal, casual nights. In that case the appropriate attire would go a little something like this:

SAT: Casual
SUN: Formal
MON: Casual
TUES: Tropical
WED: Formal
THURS: Casual
FRI: Casual

However, in other threads I have read have said that Semi Formal night is Thursday, not Wednesday. However, if you are fortunate to get rotation PLAPLAP you will be in Lumiere's for casual dress (although we would dress appropriatly for Lumiere's)and in Animator's Palate for Semi Formal night (so you would be dressed up in Animator's Palate). Which one is correct?
Also, would the light show in Animator's Palate be on Monday if you had rotation PLA? Thanks!

On the EASTERN cruise, the nights are:

Sat - Casual
Sun - Formal
Mon- Casual
Tues - Tropical
Wed - Casual
Thurs - Semi-Formal
Fri - Casual

Honestly, it does NOT matter which restaurant you are in each night, it's fine to be casual in Lumiere's and formal in Parrot Cay.

The attire in Animator's Palate and Parrot Cay is resort casual -- open-collar shirts and slacks for men and pants and a blouse or a casual dress for ladies. In Lumière's, Triton's, and Palo, we suggest men wear jackets and ladies wear dresses or pantsuits.

So, aside from Tropical Night, is it really "fine to be casual in Lumiere's", when Disney specifically requests jackets and dresses? I know, people will wear whatever they want in the end, but in general, do people dress up for Lumiere's (when it's part of the normal rotation), or not?

People don't really 'dress up' for Lumiere's but a lot of the men will wear a sportcoat and tie- DH did. Most of the women wear a nicer sundress or 'church' dress.

You will not see any tuxedos or gowns in Lumiere's on a normal night.

The Animator's Palate show is done on the first non-themed night.

So if you were on the Eastern Cruise, Monday would be a 'show night'.

I think what Michelle meant was that if you happen do be in Parrot Cay on a formal night or in Lumiere's on a casual night, that it's no big deal. I think that was the concern of the original poster. I guess it would be fun to be in Parrot Cay for the Tropical night or at Lumière's for a formal night, but I don't really feel like I've missed out on something by never having had the PLA rotation.

I think overall, people do dress up a bit for Lumière's and Palo.

Actually, we always have LAPLAPL and I think it's really neat to be in AP on formal night. The men dressed in black tuxes and white shirts and alot of women in their little or long black dresses.

And I agree, the dominant colors for the decor in Animator's Palate is black and white and it blends quite well with formal attire.
