for me, my DH and my will be 3 yo DS to wear to WDW in September, however, one thing that I have not read on any of the ''crocs'' threads is because these shoes are made of a "plastic" material, when it is sweltering hot at the parks, do your feet sweat and slide around in these shoes? Just wondering, not trying to sound gross. Thanks guys

Nope..they don't sweat much at all. The holes help ventilate your food and there is something in the composition of the material that keeps it from becoming a problem.

I have 2 pairs of regular Crocs and 2 pairs of Nile sandals and I love them BUT....I could never wear them to the parks. I have no problem wearing them around for errands and the like so I took them with me on vacation last May. I put them on for an afternoon/evening at one of the parks when we first got there and quickly discovered that they caused my feet to go numb in places! I don't know if is because they are so squishy and my foot could move around a bit or what but it was agony after awhile. After that I wore my Teva sandals to the parks and the Crocs to the pool or for quick trips around the hotel.

My feet do slide around in my Crocs and they are the right size. They seem to work for me if I'm walking less, standing more. But if I'm really doing a lot of walking I cannot wear them at all.

If you get them, do it well before you go and still bring some other shoes with you on vacation just in case! I really do love my Teva sandals. They are much more supportive and can go right through the rain/water and get soaked and dry out very quickly and don't rub my feet. I've worn them the past 3 trips to the parks (same sandals, since 2002) and had zero problems.

Major point is don't just take one pair of shoes with you on vacation! :thumbsup2

I have to say that the ONLY shoes my entire family will wear to the parks all day, every day, is our Crocs. They are so wonderful and my feet are never even tired, let alone sore at the end of the day (or trip). Our last trip was 10 days and we all wore them every day.

No problems whatsoever. The material they are made of are specifically designed not to make your feet sweat. However, you feet will feel a little "squishy" due to the FL humidity.

I've had Crocs for over 4 years now and they are veterans of 6 Disney vacations, no problems. Enjoy!

Hi! Never had any problems with sweating and I wore them everyday.

The only caution I will give you is this: I had worn my crocs for the whole summer before we went so the soles were wore down a little bit. Well, I was hurrying one wet morning to the gift shop for something, on the cement, exterior corridors near the stairwell at POP. The floor is almost painted smooth there? Anyways, I slipped and just about WIPED OUT! I know it was the lack of traction and the slick wet surface, but just a heads up. This is the only place I had this problem.

So if you stay at a hotel with those slick exterior corridors, and it rains, walk cautiously.

We live in california & visit disneyland often. I do have crocs that I got last year & I did wear them one day at Disneyland with no problem. I agree with the other poster that the bottoms do lack a little traction on wet smooth cement. I found them comfortable in the heat, squishy is a good word. The water does pool in them a bit if you get them TOO wet (like walking through a puddle or something) and that can be a little uncomfortable. My feet need more support I think because after several hours in them my legs get sore. (Im a marathon runner so its not because I am out of shape) BUT they are great & I encourage you to get some.

That being said, I love my Tevas even more! I have 2 different pairs and they both are wonderful in warm weather. You can dunk them in water & they still give excellent traction, support and comfort. My legs/feet never feel tired after a day in them. These are not cheap but worth every single penny! I have one pair from about 8 or 9 years ago!

I agree that you should get the shoes (whatever brand you choose) ahead of your trip and wear them A LOT to see how you feel in them. Everyone is different. Dont bring new shoes to Disney, you will be sorry. Always wear worn in shoes.

I'm convinced too and just order some for me and dh the other day! So which place is the best place to get them cheap in kids sizes? Anyone know?

Okay I hope no one laughs at me cause I am a little slow but what are "crocs" :confused3 from the description I was thinking the rubber shoes that are in different colors that I see nurses wearing but I may be wrong.

Ok, they look really comfy, but I'm afraid I'd look like a total dork wearing them. Does anyone have pics of people wearing them?

They do look a little dorky but you get past it pretty quick. They look better with pants, imo.

Just get a fun color - I love the purple ones - and have fun with it. Make sure you get the ones with the holes on the top. I dont know the names of the styles but there is one that is a solid piece on top and they would not have any ventilation.

I live in the very hot, sunny south Alabama. EVERYONE down here has Crocs. I am not one to jump on the fashion band wagon, but I have started having a lot of problems with one of my feet. I was told that I had to get a pair of Crocs. I thought "no way!" To make a long story short.....my crocs stay by my bed and go on my feet the second I wake up. I were them everywhere but to church!! I can't stand to not have them on. And I do wear socks with mine! (in fact, they make "croc socks") We are going to Disney in December and I will make sure to get my DH and DS (even though he is only 2) a pair. You can go to Shoe Station's web site. They have all styles, colors, and sizes.

They are a must!!!!!

I live in Arizona..... It is hot and crocs are the only shoes that my feet don't get hot in... I have around 5 pairs now and I don't think I have worn another pair of shoes since last June... I love them and so do my kids- they won't wear their sneakers or tevas anymore...... I don't think they look dorky- of course, I see so many people wearing them here everyday.. They look totally normal.....
