got my rebel xt and with the lens i have it's way to heavy ( i took mabye 5 pics and my arm muscles are spasming like crazy) so what is the lightest least expensive lens ( 'nother good thing today, some jerk stiffed husband on a job he just finished grrrrrrrrrrrr) i could get..even if i have to get 2, i can't handle this one at all...it weighs about the same as the camera including battery etc, lens is maybe a little heavier

second thought would be some kind of support i could move easier than a tripod

( sorry if this sounds crabby, i am and this has been one crappy day)

Jann, I am not really in the best position to make a recommendation, but as a fellow shaker ;) I wanted to point out the 50mm f1.8. (cheap lens - @ $75 shipped) is almost TOO light. I need a little more heft, if I am in a quiver mode. Of course, I assume you are looking for something besides a prime. I just wanted to warn you about going too light.

What lens were you using? Would the Sigma 18-125mm be too much? I guess there is always the kit lens!

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Yes Geety is reading my mind, the kit lens and 50mm 1.8 are about as light as you are going to get.

About all I can say is keep shooting with it, after a while it won't be so heavy anymore. You'll get used to it.

oh, forgot to add. In most cases, 18-55 should cover your shots. Remember the film days? 28-80 is the most commonly used lens. 18-55 on a crop sensor is basically 28-80mm.
