My sister says that she'll go to WDW with us in November!!!:yay: She is such a kid at heart and I know she'll have a great time. This is what I'm confused about: As a first timer, what park should we take her to first?!?

What park did you go to first as a first timer??? I wanna make sure she has the best time and that she wants to come back!!! LOL!!!:lmao: But..knowing her..I wouldn't be surprised if she'd come with us all the time after that!!!

Thanks everyone for any responses that I may get for this. I just don't know what to do.

You have to start at MK. Your trip doesn't really start until you are on Main Street looking at the castle.

I agree MK is the way to start the trip. I am bummed b/c on our upcoming trip we are going to a park on travel day and I don't want that to MK since it is not a full day. It will be my step-son's first time but I am sure he will love it anyway.

Definately MK, I still recall my excitement of seeing the castle for the first time and I was 36 years old too

Start and end with MK!!!!!!

I second this one. We also always start and end our trip at MK!!!:goodvibes There is nothing more magical than walking up Main Street and catching your first look at the Castle!!:lovestruc UNFORGETTABLE!!!!

I agree to start and end with Mk, nothing like starting your vacation walking up main st and seeing the castle and then on your last day getting one last look at the wonders of main st. What ever you choose, everyone will have a great time. besides your all going to be in Disney

I bet you're going to have a great time! I love taking "newbies" to WDW. :thumbsup2

Just one word of advice: Don't get too hung up on details like this. I'm sure your sis will have a wonderful experince regardless of which park you visit first.

I think it's great that you care so much about giving her an incredible experience though!

Happy planning!

Kristen

The first time I catch a glimpse of the castle from far off I get a tear in my eye each trip! I know it sounds insane, but it's true. Whether we're driving ourselves or on a shuttle bus, I look for the castle and everyone looks for me to get sappy. :flower3:

Disney is where my husband and I spent our honeymoon and that's why it's so special to me! :lovestruc

Start with the MK! You can't go wrong! Get her a pair of mouse ears online before you go and slip them on her head after you go through the turn-styles.

Enjoy your trip. I'll be there next November too!

I'm taking a first timer, and we're starting with AK, if only because we don't have a full day there, and I'm saving MK for our first full day.

Plus, we have an MK view! :wizard:

That's a good point. We always have an extra day or 2 for MK so it's not a problem if our first day is only half the day. But if you are doing 1 park per day and one of those days is not a full day I'd start at AK also.

MK is the most iconic of the parks. Start there.

You don't want to end up going to somewhere else first and have your sister ask "Where's the Castle?"

I agree with everybody else.. its such a Euphoric feeling walking up Main Street and gazing at the castle ahead for the first time. Along with the atmosphere, the early 20th century decor, the smell of fresh popcorn. etc.. it makes me you wish you could live there forever!:cool1:

I got to say MK also! When I start with the other Parks I don't feel like I am really there until MK as Crazy as that sounds

I would have to vote MK. It is so magical. Have fun on your trip. We ( including my sister) will be going back this summer. Nothing beats the trip she and I took alone a few years ago. I had a blast with her and I know how much fun we are going to have this coming June! I can not wait to spend time with her at Disney World again!

Thanks everyone for the responses!!! We usually start and end our vacation at MK!! She's sooo excited!!! She doesn't my son to know..so we're going to pick her up the morning of and then she's going to tell him herself!!! So..I'm anticipating this vacation to be fulll of surprises!!!:cool1::thumbsup2

I know you're going to have so much fun no matter what. But I also vote MK.

Last year, my family saved MK for our last day because it was my birthday and that's where I wanted to be on that special day. Unfortunately, the rest of the trip felt a little off because it was backwards. I know, it sounds stupid. :confused3

This year, we're visiting MK twice--first AND last day. I've never stayed long enough to do two days at one park before! :cool1:
