When you buy tickets from WDW, they always tell you that they are non transferable and non refundable. Okay I get the non refundable, but not the non transferable.

Like take for example. My DB and his family are going with us to WDW this summer, I bought ALL of our tickets under my name. Now are they going to give him grief because I purchased these tickets. Maybe someone can explain a little better for me what non transferable means.

Thanks...I feel so duh! right now

Hi,

Non transferable means that you can't, say, buy a five-day ticket, use two days yourself, and give it or sell it to someone else to use the other three days.

Your situation is fine!

The first person to use the ticket is the only person who can ever use the ticket. That's where the enforcement of Disney's non-transferable policy comes into play. You won't have any problem with them using tickets purchased with your credit card so long as they're new tickets that haven't been used by someone else.

The tickets don't become non-transferable until the first time they're used. Once your DB uses his ticket and "marks" it with his finger scan, it becomes his and he cannot hand it to someone else to use. Until first use, you can hand those tickets to anyone you like.

Great, thank you for all the responses, I was just a little DUH! because my name is printed on the back of all the passes. Thanks for clearing that all up. Makes sense. :)

If your name is printed on them, that probably means they are Florida Resident Tickets. Then there may be a problem, especially if they are not Florida Residents.

our name is on the back, but just my last name. And when i ordered the CM knew we were not from Florida. The last 3 years it has been the same. My last name on the back.

Ok, let me as a question then... I am taking a friend to disney this fall and have several 1 day passes that we have bought to get the dining plan in the past. They are on old room keys, but have not been used. Can she use them?

Yes, she can use them before they haven't ever been used. One year, we did free dining and my mom came with. DS and I had days left on our non-expiring passes, and my mom used all three of our one day tickets with no problem.

For FL resident tickets anyone over 18years old has to show proof of FL residency.

The non transferable is also to prevent you from buying one 10 day ticket for a couple that is going for 5 days. If they were transferable you could use the ticket and then hand it to your partner and they could too. Non transferable prevents this.
