I know this is a commonly asked question, but I am still not sure that I get it. There needs to be a post that stays at the top of this discussion board all the time labeled FAQ Connection Vouchers. Here's my question. We have PS's for the Ice Cream Social and the New Princess Breakfast AND are planning on giving it our best shot to get CRT for breakfast, will those food vouchers help me? I am SOOO confused on where you can and can't use them. Not to mention, I have seem some posts where people take them to the rest. and the waiters (or whoever) don't want to take them or don't know what they are. Anyway, I am definitely new to the Conn. vouchers, so PLEASE help!!!

Hi Minnie's Pal,
Regarding using a voucher at Ice Cream Social, currently, there is no voucher for this. (I think the price for the ICS is $6.99)

CRT. Adult breakfast voucher will cost $17.50. It includes the breakfast, 6% tax and a 15% tip. Cost of CRT for an adult (on November 2001) was 15.95. (15.95 plus 6% tax and 15% tip= $19.44).

Children's voucher $12.00. Breakfast price (11/01) was $8.95
(8.95 plus tax/tip = $10.91)

New Princess Breakfast: Don't know if they will take vouchers for this breakfast (because it is not listed as a participating restuarant--rules on voucher say all participating restaurants must be listed). The consensus seems to be--since this is a new breakfast, try to use the voucher, but be prepared to pay just in case they don't.

I would see if you can find any posts from others who have used Connections vouchers for CRT now since they've changed to the prepay deposit thing. I used them for 2 char bkft in June-Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey. I don't really think it saved me more than $3 or 4 but it was nice to have something prepaid and not have to have cash on hand. Remember tax and tip is all included.

Gosh, you bring up an excellant point! When I made my ressies for CRT (on the third day of trying on a cell phone on the way to the airport --no, I wasn't driving :)), I was a little flustered and I did not tell CM of my intention to use the vouchers....I thought everyone had to pay the depost... Well, some days after I returned home from my trip and had time to reflect, I wondered how that worked and posed a question on this board. I found that if you are paying with vouchers, they only use your CC as a guarantee and they don't charge the deposit.
So, I called Disney right away and explained. The CM gave me a little grief about it, asked if I was sure CRT was included, et'c. Then said he would refund the deposit.... Some days later I received a call from Disney asking me to fax them front and back of my certificates "just to make sure there would be no problems". (I checked my cc statement and noticed that the CC had not received the credit for the deposit, too.) I faxed front and back to Disney Dining---went through about 10min call with a CM. CM wanted to know why I faxed front and back of the certificate. I explained. CM said it would be put in the file and assured me I would receive my credit. A week passes, no credit. I called again. This CM couldn't find any record of the charge (well, I ask, that being the case, should I dispute the charge that is on my CC?-) Well, CM said she needed to have the supervisor research it and would get back to me. The next day, the CM called and said the credit had been put on my CC. (I verified and this was true). So, This little exercise took several weeks to play out.
Bottom line: Don't forget to tell them you are using vouchers and be prepared to fax front and back of the vouchers to Disney Dining--just so they can "be sure you won't have any trouble using the vouchers"....
By the way, I am very grateful that I asked the question on this board and I was steered in the right direction because I was able to get the problem squared away before the trip. It was a huge relief to have that problem solved!
