And I wish it was while I was drinking a dole whip, but it's not!

We will be using the DDP for the First time.....I have read everything, but.....see title of POST!

How do I know what is included from the menu as part of my entree, appetizer, or dessert?

How do I know if a snack is included from a cart or counter service place?

I think I'm good on counter service....At least I think I'm good....you never know......Remember when your math teacher showed you how to do the problem and you were like "yeah I so get it....I get it good." .... Then you go to do the HW or worse the test and you're like

HELP!

We are also doing the DDP for the first time on our upcoming trip.
My understanding of the DDP is that there are no exclusions on a TS menu except for "adult beverages". Otherwise, you have your choice of entee etc.

From previous visits, I have seen carts that accept the DDP and some that don't. I believe I read on another post that generally a snack would be an item that is $4 or less. I'm sure somebody will correct me if I'm wrong (which I would appreciate, as I mentioned we have never done the DDP).

I would also look at this link, it's pretty helpful and I printed it to study as we get closer ....http://www.wdwinfo.com/MagicYourWaydining.htm

Of course, I'm sure I'll also be asking CM for help!

TS: the menus are divided into sections--appetizers, entrees, desserts. Most soups and salads are also included in this category, except of course, for entree-sized salads (you'll be able to tell from the price). Occasionally, they'll have additional sections, such as sides, extras, etc. If you see something you really want from those sections, just ask, but being in the separate area usually means not included.

Snacks: In the parks, almost all places post a little, purple DDP symbol next to the item on the board. It's not as clear in the resorts' food courts and gift shops, but if you see something you'd like and it's under $4 ($3.99-yes, $4.00-no), just ask, because it's probably included.

I actually found CS meals to be the most confusing, but maybe that's just because there were so many options. In the food courts, almost any bottled beverage could be counted as your drink, along with the soda fountain beverages. Fruit cups could be substituted for dessert, and CHH was even allowing people to substitute a cup of chili or chowder for the dessert. Come to think of it, it was more a matter of lots of different CM's who had figured out different ways to accomodate guests than it was all the choices.

Anyway, we just got used to telling every CM that we were on the DDP, and asking what was included. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful, so don't hesitate to ask. Have fun!

ahhhhhhhhhh....purple DDP symbol......good!

There's also a thread here within the DDP board about snacks that are included. You'll see it posted as a sticky thread at the top of the board. I found that to be quite helpful...and couldn't believe all the "confirmed" snack options. We can't wait to go later this year and use the DDP.

Ok, here's the thread.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1109080

We'll be using the DDP for the first time later this year and when I saw all these snack options, I think it was the deciding factor for us. I always felt that the snacks were too expensive, but realized after our trip last year that we are probably spending about $40 per day on food even when we ate most meals off-site, so why not get the DDP and then we'll get to try some of the restaurants we've never been to and get to try some of those yummy looking snacks. (Can you believe I've never had a Mickey ice cream bar?)

Ok I had no idea it was all those snacks.....You could like have breakfast with a snack credit.

This is really wonderful thanks for the link.....I'm so glad we went with the DDP.

That's exactly what I thought when I finally read that thread. I had been thinking that we might need to pick up bagels or granola bars to have in the room for breakfast, but after seeing that list...we don't need them.

Not to hjack the thread or anything, but can I ask what sort of things you could get if you use a CS for breakfast? There are a few days where I won't be in Disney as I'll be going to Seaworld/Busch Gardens etc and sometimes I am using a TS for lunch, so my CS has been overlooked, I decided to use most of them for breakfast and most of them will be used at The Mara it seems, as the AKL is one place we will be staying. Do you think this is value for money? What items could I get for breakfast on a CS credit?

Thanks

Caitlin: You might want to ask that on the Dining Plan FAQ thread. I honestly don't know since I've yet to do the DDP, but I'm sure you'll get the answer there...and probably much more quickly than you would on this thread.
