OK..How many of you sat and held your dogs after watching todays Oprah?

I finally sat down to watch this...and I sobbed through most of it!!!!

I am not a huge Oprah fan and have not watched her for years (with the possible exception of a couple shows where she had casts of movies I was looking forward to). I do applaud her for covering this, though I can't help but wonder what took her so long? She reaches a huge audience and seems to have tremendous influence. From the number of people who are giving pet stores their business, it is apparent that the word still needs to get out to many people.....hopefully Oprah's show reached those who need to hear the message.

I was already aware of the issues, but I have always had an interest in animal rights.

I didn't have the chance to watch Oprah. Which I did want to see that episode. I also like Lisa Ling as a reporter. We have a great rescue(adopted Nov. 06). Yes he was work and always work in progress. But we love him and we have learned a lot from the obedience process. He was estimated to be 4-6 yrs. An older dog was a great fit for our family. In the future I will return to the 3 local shelters(which we trust and think they do excellent work) in the area to adopt an older dog. So please don't past up those 4 yrs + dogs, you could find a real gem.
