Ok... how exactly to we "pay" with the DDP?

Food Porn... Check (we're not too proud of this one really)

Ok so as you can see, we're about as "prepared" as you can be for our upcoming trip with DDP. This will be our first time and last night I came to realize that I have no freakin' idea how to pay with the DDP. I had a panic attack knowing that I would be "that person" that the Dis people talk about, you know, that one that holds up the line, stares blank at the cashier, has no idea what the heck he/she is doing.

As far as I know, all the DDP credits go on 1 card. But, I pressume this is the same card that has my room key, tickets, and charge ability... correct?

What do I have to say to make sure they charge a credit off the card, instead of a CC charge? Or vice versa?

I know my TS reservations have me listed as being on the DDP, but do I still tell my Server? What about if I'm in line at a CS location, do I tell them too or do they just "know" when they swipe my card?

This will go both ways as we are planning to pay OOP for a meal and maybe a CS...

Is there a special lingo or phrase? Do we have a secret handshake or look?

I believe on the bottom right hand of your room key it will list the # of Adults and # of children in your party and this will be on all the keys to the world cards. At CS i always have the Card out and say we are on the dining plan I give them our order and the card and they give me a receipt and I make sure they took the correct amount of credits. It is easy. When you go to TS and check in usually they ask and just say I'm on the dining plan or tell your server. they will go over any exclusions and what you can get. Don't worry about it. using your DDP is the easiest part of the vacation. Trying to decide where to eat is the hard part.

I believe the special lingo you are looking for is "I am on the Dining Plan". It's just not that complicated. Relax and enjoy.

The DDP is on all the cards.

For instance - my 16 y/o did his own thing. He took his card and was able to eat where/when he wanted.

At TS - They ask you when they get to your table "Hi, Im Cathryn, Ill be your server - are you guys on the dining plan"

At CS and food carts - you hand them your card and they swipe it, same as if you were charing to your room.

And as you purchase items (you give it to them, and sign it like a credit card) youre reciept will show how many credits you have left.
