We have vasilated between a cruise and WDW, and it looks like WDW is wining out. But...exactly when, where to stay, etc is up in the air. Here is our details...

  • Family of 4 Mom, Dad, Son 19, Son 15
  • Both boy are HS size football players 6'2" & 6'4" (the 15 yo is the one that's 6'4" !!) and offensive linemen size. I mention this because.....
  • We either want two rooms or a suite of some sort. A king or queen for the wife and I and a bed for each of the boys. And...
  • The boy can eat a bunch, so we're sure to do MYW plus dining.
  • We are WL vets and love the place, but are fine with a value resort to save some cash (All Star Music suite ?)
  • Timeframe is last June to mid July. Looking to stay 5 or 6 nights. We wonder if it would be fun to be there for the 4th, even though that's a crazy crowd size day.
  • We're park & ride folks, but will likely get the park hopper plus option to get the water parks too.

So....start firing away with detailed ideas. DISers are great, and I always love your ideas and judgement !!

Pop is really a fun place to stay. Two rooms won't cost you as much as 1 at WL and then you would have more $ to feed those guys! The only downside would be that the beds are doubles so, if you're like my hubby and me, we each get 1 instead of kicking eachother all night!

I have never been there during the 4th of July but if you don't mind crowds and a higher price then go for it! Otherwise I would go in June.

The ASMu suites would have a queen, a double fold out sofa, and 2 twin fold outs. Not sure if the twin size would be so comfy for your sons.

We stayed at AS Music for the first time in December. We had a blast!!! DS17 loved it the most and wants to stay there again. (He's 6'2" also!) It was much better than we expected and DS17 loved the food court!! I think he tried everything there.

When we stayed for a week in the summer, we stayed at BC. We love the convenience of the Epcot resorts since a lot of our ADRs were around that area. Also, the convenience of staying right near the BW and seeing all the evening activities there was fun. Oh, and ESPN club is there too! If you are wanting the DDP, Swan and Dolphin are out.

POR was our stay in January. It was great also!!! The grounds are awesome. We also took the boat to DTD for some dining and shopping. DH said that one is his favorite, even better than "that place we stayed in the summer":scared1: There are a lot of activities at POR.

Anytime in the summer will be crowded but it's all in the fun you make of it. If you are stressed about the crowds, your trip won't be as much fun, but if I wanted to be there at the 4th of July, I would just go and make the best of it.

Have a great trip!!!

Some rooms do have king beds--like at POR. So, you could get a king room for yourself, and a double room for the boys. And, you'd have two bathrooms!

I'd suggest going on the DVC Rent/Trade board and look into renting points for
a villa. You'd have much more space, a kitchen and for a fraction of the "rack
rate". Have a wonderful trip!
