Ok, be honest....

I found my fanny pak!! I found my sunscreen!!

What else could I possibly need?? :rotfl2:

I got DH's suitcase mostly packed, my carry on & some on my suitcase today. It made me realize how close it is!

I don't understand how you all pack last minute. I would forget everything!!

I am now officially unpacked. DH (not so dear right now) told me over the holiday that I was being incredibly selfish leaving the family for a race and what was more important to me. I am in serious negotiations with myself right now. Of course my family is most important so now what :confused3 ?

I hate to hear this - I'm sure someone else will chime in with advice - I know I'm fortunate, dh supported me from the moment I mentioned the possibility of running - and he is running the full (I'm doing the half)

but the closer it gets, the guiltier HE feels, we're leaving dd 11 behind (we also have a 22, 19 DS - she is our surprise!!) but funny, she cant wait!! :rotfl2: He keeps asking her if she is ok, or is she wishing she could come etc... she says "Dad stop it, I dont WANT to go - I am NOT crazy!" :rotfl2:

(of course she is looking forward to spending quality time with her brothers - they're in college - so it is a win win as far as I can see!!)

I hope he can hear your needs - and sometimes we need to do for ourselves so we can give more to those we love!! Going to the virtual well per se, fill up before returning to give back more!!

I used to start packing way ahead of time. I used to so overly obsess about it. now I have the "we can just buy it when we get there" attitude and let me tell you how less stressful preparing for vacation has become... LOL

Sandy: Thanks for the input. I appreciate it. My kids are fine with me going and got really excited when they found out they could track me online during the race. DH hates running (or exercising in general), works all the time and hates WDW (crowds, $$, etcetera) so I am unsure where he is coming from exactly. My DD is 13 and takes care of her brother while I am working at home anyhow so it is no change from normal for them. She cleans, cooks and makes sure he brushes his teeth. Anyway, thanks again, I will get over this somehow!!

I do follow the principal that if you do not have it you can always buy it somewhere and I always pack according to a list and the weather forecast. I read somewhere that if you say "we might need" then you don't and I do adhere to this (except for running clothes!!). I am just used to packing for the entire family except for DD who does her own so I have 3 peoples crap to keep track of, hence early packing to maintain my sanity. Kudos to you last minute packers though, I am truly jealous!!

I'm going to take our Christmas tree down on Sunday afternoon, so that means that packing for WDW commences on Monday morning!:thumbsup2

I started packing today, but not sure if I should pack shorts, or not. So far I've packed 3 pairs of shorts, 3 pairs of capris and 2 pairs of jeans.:confused3

I am not packing until next week. I am thinking about stuff but I am not packing. I still haven't finished unpacking from my last trip.

My little sister is driving down as one of my support team and I have given her detailed lists of things to bring. She will bring my horrible recovery drinks, a cooler to hold ice and beers (for after the full) and portable chairs for the finish lines. Can anyone else think of something you would bring in a car but not carry on a plane?

One thing I do not like about Disney's finish line is that there is no place but the asphalt to sit. I like to wait around and see all my friends as they finish but it will be more pleasant with a chair. (Yeah, I know that sounded very cocky, but hey, I don't have to wait on the people that finish before me)
