OK, all you OKW owners

All OKW oweners,-----I am now convinced you have the #1 DVC Resort. DW and I just back and had a wonderful time. Stayed in room 1620, studio. Transportation very good. The longest wait was 10min. at Epcot on return. Average about 5 min. All the people spoke to us!
Our home resort is BWV and while we love it, people are not as friendly.

We will return, week after Thanksgiving, if we get Res. Going to try May 12!!!!!!!!

I agree..we love OKW and think the people are great and the accomodations can't be matched. Been to BWV and like location but had some problem with CM at desk(can happen anywhere). We are trying BCV this June, but always return to OKW(made ressies yesterday fro 12/29-1/02/04 in 1 BD woohoo!)

We go to BWV with standard view at Spring Break and OKW in late August before school starts, or at least that has been our latest pattern. It is great to have the option to stay at the different DVC resorts. We own at both and wouldn't mind adding on at either if we could afford it!

So glad to hear you enjoyed your trip. We own at OKW but haven't been there yet! We only bought our points in December and won't be going 'home' until next year. With all the lovely comments I read, I can't wait.

Yes, DH and I are owners of 2 contracts @ OKW. When we were purchasing our first one, back in 1997, only OKW and BWV were available. OKW was less expensive per point and had less expensive dues. We figured that if we could never stay anywhere else on WDW property again, that we could always be happy at OKW, so we bought there. Of course, we have been able to stay at all the DVC properties at WDW with our points.

When we decided to buy a 2nd contract last year, they were selling the BCV. We stayed there in October, to see if we thought it would be somewhere we'd like to have points. Based on the location, we thought it might be nice to have the 11 month booking window there.

Well, we did like the BCV, but not enough to pay more per point plus more in dues, so we bought a resale at OKW. The price per point was MUCH cheaper than BCV, and the dues are cheaper as well.

I can't say that I have ever regretted having our home resort be OKW. In general, I feel like I have the best of both worlds. I have the DVC for a slightly less expensive cost than those folks who own at BWV, BCV, or VWL, but I have the ability to stay at those resorts. I generally go at times of the year when it is not hard for me to be able to stay at the resort of my choosing. And as I said previously, I like OKW enough where if I never had the chance to stay anywhere else, I could be very happy staying there each time I went to WDW.

That's really the beauty of the DVC...you can pick and choose. It is probably the best "mental health" investment DH and I have ever made.

We go next week for a week at OKW. Can't wait to go "home".

We joined DVC at OKW in 1995 and find it always exciting returning there. We have vacationed at BWV and BCV and certainly enjoy the different themes and amenities, but OKW is home. However, I'll gladly take a vacation at any of our resorts and love every minute of Disney Magic.

We LOVE OKW too. While all the other WDW DVC resorts are nice, they feel like upscale resorts which is great. But when we drive through the gates to OKW, it truely feels like HOME! And a much nicer home than our real one!

OKW is the best! We have points at other DVC resorts as well, and usually choose to stay at OKW because we luv it there so much. Not to downplay BWV and BCV and WLV but we do like the friendliness of OKW - always a smile and Welcome Home!

Glad you liked our HOME! We too thought about buying our second contract at the Epcot area, but didn't like the hotel setting and didn't care for the room arrangements over there. We can't ever quite decide to give up our lower points to stay in a "hotel"! When we first purchased, we were sure we would try the Grand Floridian etc., but we would really MISS OKW if we didn't stay there!

Make sure the person you rent from uses PayPal or some other intermediary so they never get your credit card number. It works great!

Glad to hear you like OKW. As you have experienced it is very relaxing, laid back, and friendly. We don't mind at all taking the bus to the theme parks. It is great after a long day at the parks to return to this tranquil resort. The rooms are fantastic. Last year we walked around BCV and BW contemplating on whether we should stay there. We decided against it.

Now that we are at war we are eagerly anticipating our stay in May at OKW. We are a little afraid to travel but we love Disney. We don't want to be part of the cause for the attendance going down at Disney. I plan on spending a lot of money there.
